AWWWWW MAAAN!!! This sucks......

#80 did the damage? That's what I thought. Use #82 with a finishing pad first a Megs 9000 pad and some pressure on the pc. If the 9000 gets rid of the marring, use it on the rest of the car. Do each area twice. On the second time around the car use pressure on the first and second pass and less pressure on each remaining pass to get the gloss and depth. Remember to buff wet.

If the 9000 pad does not get rid of the defects fast enough use the more agressive 8000 polishing pad to remove the defects. After the defects are removed use the 9000 pad to get the gloss and depth.

That should be plenty to work on just a small section.

It's a bummer that you have to repolish, but once you figure out the process/product to remove the haze you can take your time doing the rest of the car. Just chaulk it all up as a learning experience......

Its a serious bummer, i spent sooooo long on it the first time. Im trying not to get discouraged about this and make it happen and get the results i have soooooo many times before on other vehicles.

FWIW, half a bottle would last me a LOT of cars with a rotary. For PC application, you should be able to strech it for atleast 15 cars, MIN.

Your saying that the areas you did with 83 look good, but the areas you finished down with 80 had hazing? I'm not really sure how that would work out (unless the pad was dirty or the paint had dirty on it), but if the 83 looked good, why not just finish down with 83? If the 83 looked good, but the 80 was hazy, you could try going from 83 to 82 and see if that helps. I have ALWAY had 80 clean up 83. On soft paint, it is lightly hazed AFTER 80, but it still clearer then AFTER 83. The problem is either the application or something is really wrong with your 80.

MOL should be back online soon, and I suggest we move this thread over there.

The #83 looked great of course it was slightly hazy though but thats normal and ussualy when i follow up with #80 it clears up all the haze and looks amazing. Why this happened is beyond me. I cant figure out how this happened. The paint and pads where clean as they could possibly be. My garage is cleaner than most operating rooms also. It was defiantely the #80 however. My hood i only did with #80 and its hazed beyond belief.

Im gonna try #83 and finsih with #82

Or #83 and try to finish that down

Or #83 then #80 and #82.

Im just gonna try to use all combo's until i find what works and redo the whole car with that combo. My fear is i cant fix this with any of these polishes.

I was gonna start a thread there but since it was down i came here to post it. Cant waite till its back online.

I dont own any megs pads and im not gonna order and waite. I need to fix this ASAP, quick fast like bunny.

Please reffer to post #24

OMG i just realized something.

The one thing i did to my car i didnt do with the others is when i was done polishing i wiped the car down with megs QD (burgandy bottle). Then i waxed with #26. Would that cause this?

Well it is haze no ifs-ands or buts about it so i cant believe the QD would cause it.

Just a thought.

Panels werent warm or in the sun.

My car was in the garage 3 days prior to polishing and the ambient temp wasnt over 70 at any time.

Use your softest polishing pad first with #82 and see if that corrects the damage. If it doesn't use a little more agressive pad.

And yes the look of haze can be cause by polishing residue not totally wiped off the surface.

I would use final inspection, but what you have should work.

OK now im real upset and totaly discouraged.

I did every combination possible with #83, #80 and #82. I also every combination possible with all my pads, DAS orange, green and blue.

I think i need a better fine polish, what should i get that will take care of this?

Coupe,

are you really light on the pc when you are polishing to remove the haze? That's how you polish to a shine. Very light pressure when working to get gloss and depth. You don't want the pad to do any cutting just the polish, which is why I use a non cutting pad for my final step...

Derrick

Yes im being extremely light, i am not putting any pressure on it at all.

The finishing pad shouldnt have any bite anyways....its a finishing pad. The DAS blue is meant for wax/sealants and pure polishes.

Alright i figured it out.

Kinda embarrasing but i wasnt working it long enough.

This stuff you have to work FOREVER. I have never had to work it this long to get these results.

But anyway here is me working my arse off.
