Armor All - Detailers Advantage Tire Foam?

Yeah...it seems to have some greasy kid stuff in it. I probably posted earlier in this thread (since it's an old one) that I used to swear by this stuff, but got tired of the "one rainstorm and it's gone" and the greasy buildup.

I see.. Well, anyhow, I plan on using it on the wheelwells and as a base for my tire dressing gel, so it won't be much of a problem.

I've used it once, and really liked the look it gave. I don't think it's worth it to worry about browning if you are not going to use it for longer than a few months. And I also don't see how it's any better than the original AA tire foam.....maybe a slight durability edge but it's negligible.

I've been using it as a base for Armor All tire gel all summer, and it's worked well, appearing to increase the durability of the gel. :up

I don't think gels turn tires brown. Improper care of tires, followed by gel, will turn them brown.

I dunno, IIRC the browning is the tire's anti-ozonant coming to the surface to protect the tire from ozone degradation. My anecdotal experience would indicate that the oily dressings seem to accelerate the browning (after they wear off), where the milky (PDMS) dressings don't seem to brown as much after. Of course there are a lot of variables such as tire make/model, how much the car is driven, etc.

If browning of tires is an issue, get AA Wheel Cleaner Spray, spray down the tires and then watch the brown rinse away with a high pressure hose (I used a hose head from costco and it worked great).

I've gotta say that i've seen brown looking tires and i've used almost every tire shine i could get my hands on and i've yet to end up with any brown tires.

I go pure waterless with wheels, tires and paint so i use mineral sprits to clean my tires instead of water and a brush.

Yet to have a tire turn brown including with armor all extreme shine, foam and the detailers advantage foam.

I have also noticed grease build up with the oil tire dressings. I will not use them any longer. I had to use an APC and scrub them all down.

QUESTION: Is the Armor ALL (basic-yellow can) Tire foam water based or not. They do not indicate what it is on there website.
