Yes with Z1 or ZFX for the initial coat.



I took developmental formulations of XXXX, now known as Z2-Pro though many off-the-wall applications but always followed the Zaino recommended initial application instructions.

These trials included:

Initial test was with Menzerna IP and FP.

Followed by test using prep and LSP products like:

AIO

SG

NXT (used as a pre-cleaner and gloss enhancer and followed with Z7 wash)

1Z Perl wash instead of Z7 of established Z2-Pro and application of Z2-Pro alone

Several different QD's between application.

WG pre-cleaner, Z7 wash - application



This stuff is really user friendly and compatible with many prep products when a Z7 wash follows prep for oil/silicone based prepping products. :xyxthumbs



My next test will be Meg #80 (wonderful stuff) with only a Z6 wipedown. :cool:

The rumors are correct. The recent bottles of Z2 are Z2Pro in disguise.

The pre-released Z2-Pro had a black cap in non-labelled 2 oz bottles with a hand-written code number. Still have some of the evolving Z2-Pro formulations. Seems as though Sal was continually tweeking the formulation almost weekly. :bow

The color (really like the yellow stuff) and thickness of the solution has changed also during my testing phases over the last 7 months.

I have both the last version test bottle (last XXXX) and the white capped Z2 labelled Z2-Pro. Absolutely identical in physical characteristics, application improvements, drying, visual appearance on vehicles and durability. Just like the test formulations the white-capped Z2 was sent directly from Sal with the info stating this is the final version of the "not at this time" re-named Z2. The Z2-Pro name decision was not settled until mid-November.

All Z2 sold after mid-September is Z2-Pro in Z2 bottles .



Why was Z2-Pro released initially as Z2?

Blind testing for customer responses.

Distribution and flawless conversion.



Sorry, you just have the same new Z2-Pro like many purchasers (since September) and fellow testers. :rolleyes:





I test detailing products for many companies and have no financial tights with any. I am just an avid detailing hobbyist.

So I could wash with my favorite car wash soap, use my favorite polishes to remove defects, apply Klasse AIO, than go straight to Z2 PRO mixed with ZFX?
 
Absolutely.

AIO's VOC's evaporated rather quickly and after buffing off leaves no residual that "I" have found that effects Z polishes adhersion. AIO seems to also clean-up any oily (lube and fillers) polishing residues that some polishes contain.



Actually this is my best liked protocol: wash, polish, AIO and Zaino or your LSP of choice.
 
The Z-2 I bought 6 weeks ago has a white cap. The Z-2 I bought perhaps 7 months before that has the red cap. The new stuff does seem thicker.
 
I got the word from Sal today. If you have a bottle that was purchased recently that has the white top, it IS the Pro version.

No problem. I talked to Sal for the first time today and he truly is a nice guy! It made me feel pretty good about using his products and it no longer hurts that I spent the money.
 
Agreed. I've talked to Sal a lot, and I admire the way he runs his business. He's a pleasure to talk to every time I call him.



Between the spectatular product and the world class service, I'm proud to represent Zaino on my home forum! And IMHO it's not expensive at all, you're paying a little more for a better product, and getting it!



It's like complaining about the price of a BMW (Zaino) vs. a Yugo (carnuba wax) and saying your Yugo is every bit as good for 1/100th the cost. I'd rather drive the Beemer!

Did anyone who tested the final version of Z2 Pro compare it side by side to Z2? What are your impressions? Any noticeable differences between the two in terms of looks?

I've put the two side by side many times. Z2P is a little bit shinier, but DEFINITELY beads tighter. It applies a little differently, but I've noticed that the durability is indeed up on it.



I've got it on my ride and about a dozen other friends/customers rides, and all I hear is praise. One of my customers had me Zaino a car he was planning to sell, and got a thousand bucks more than he was hoping to get after a little Z2P treatment.



As far as shine, I personally think it looks a little more "wet". I've noticed it also reduces swirls slightly like Z5. Might be the light messin' with me.



All in all though, a very welcome upgrade to Z2. The hardest part about testing is that I can't say a WORD about a product until it's public...



Well, Z2Pro is out now... and it's freakin sweet :cool:

I'm not stating that BMW's are better than anything or carnuba waxes are total crap (although I "personally" don't like the results of carnubas)



Anyways, all I'm saying is that those who complain about paying a little bit more for a better product need to examine what they're hoping to get out of it.



Personally, I'm looking for top quality paint protection, a beautiful shine, an easy maintanence.



I've used dozens of products in the past, and Zaino does exactly what I want it to do, every time.



I even did the math one time, and a coat of Z2 with full prep, ZFX, and all the goodies (tire dressing, etc)... It works out to something like $1.10 per coat, assuming full prep (which you only need the first time, and claying twice a year).



If I can polish my car for +6 months for a buck or so... I hardly consider that an expensive product.
 
I think what was meant is that it all comes down to preference. Let's please not destroy this thread with debates as it has some good info for those that have recently placed orders and have questions about it.
