Anyone know anything about Zaino Z-2 PRO?

On a side note I don't think this product will be received well by the Autopians:

"...Say good-bye to spending frequent weekends waxing and protecting your vehicle...":D

That was one of the complaints I jokingly stated to Sal. ;)

Corey, for all statistics there is a bell-shaped curve. At each extreme there will be 2.5%. Some (2.5%) may only get 2 months at the lower end of the curve and some (2.5%) will get 12 months of durability at the upper end of this bell curve.

The best thing I found about this formulation was the appearance enhancements (wetness and richness) without distorting optics. No small feat when competing with carnuabas in their ballpark. :wavey

I bought 2 bottles of Z2 in the past 2 weeks and do notice something different in the speed of curing, but I also ordered ZFX, and they didnt mention that I didnt need the stuff, so what did I in fact recieve ? Hmmmmm... Only thing I hate is the "flat" rate shipping, $8.95 for one bottle of product (Z2Pro) , they need to fix that!! Almost $9.00 shipping on a $13.00 order !!! :sosad

I'm happy that he continues to have the line tweaked. I'm sure with all his customers he could throw in the rag and say forget it. It shows a level of commitment. :)

Somebody must have told Sal how anal/meticulous I am because Sal had selected me a few months ago to do some beta testing for him as well. Just when you think it can't get any better, it does. For all the people that complained about drying time or Zaino being finicky you no longer have any excuses. This stuff ROCKS. The drying time has been virtually eliminated, I have done single panels and wiped it almost immediately after applying with no problems. It also blows the old Z2 and Z5 away in the looks department. I used to like Z5 better on my Z06 for some reason and now I am back to using the Z2 PRO on it. It also makes the metalic on my Silver Lightning just jump out at you. It seems, even the durability has been improved. For those of you that may know me or have seen me on Autopia you know that I am constantly trying different products and let me tell you that I have yet to find anything that compares to Zaino but with the introduction of Z2 PRO I can honestly say that Zaino is light years ahead of the competition. Sal seems to be addressing any complaint people may have had in the past, I highly recommend you give Z2 PRO a try. And as in the past, it still does not stain your trim and a little goes a long way.

You can read more about it here.

It dries in under 20 minutes, without ZFX, in ANY conditions, including very humid areas.

That sounds like it is now really in a form that can be used by pros just as easily as any other product. That is excellent news. Based on your durability results (and I know your area is tough on waxes/sealants), it seems like a great option for my once or twice a year customers.

Also did'nt see any mention to prewash with dawn, just to use Z7.

"For best results, always precede an application of Z-2 PROâ„¢ with a Z-7 Show Car Wash. This will ensure the surface is free of any contaminants or incompatible oils/deposits. Z-2 PROâ„¢ contains no cleaners, and no abrasives, therefore the surface must be in good condition before you apply Z-2 PROâ„¢"

Scott, I can tell you that here, in Detroit's wonderful winter wonderland of snow, slush, and tons of road salt, I've had Zaino easily survive a winter that included frequent visits to both touchless and **gasp** "soft cloth" car washes. By April, both my car and the wife's were still beading rather well. Both had two layers of Z-2.

I got my "white cap" Z2 directly from Zaino about three months ago. It's been on my '02 Audi A4 since then. The Z2 finish still beads like crazy and looks very nice. And that's only with two coats of Z5 and one coat of Z2 Pro. (I didn't have time for a second coat of Z2.)

Since I'm new to Zaino I didn't have anything to compare it to. I've read posts from people complaining about "Zaino". But, when I looked at my Audi, I kept thinking, "Why are they complaining? It looks great!" Now I know why. Sal slid me the new stuff! Nice going Sal!

Regards,

Dan.

Darn, I still have a full bottle of the red-capped Z2 that I've barely put a dent in. Is there a big difference between the Z2 Pro and the "new" Z2 that was out a few months (maybe a year) ago? I've got the "old" orange-pink version and the "new" pink version.

This is one of the things I like about Zaino, Sal is constantly revising his products to enhance its usage and he tests his products out for a long time before actually releasing them.

oops the new z-2 has red cap not the white cap

Sorry

I have a white cap of Z-2 that i recieved about 8 months ago. Is it the new stuff that you guys are talking about. Or is it the old formula Z-2

Exactly!!!! :bounce

Are you guys sure about the white cap? Last time I ordered Z2 was June of 2003 and both bottles have a white cap.

I don't think the white cap signifies the Z2 Pro (although my bottles are white capped). Also, it has not been shipping out for 3 months now. Its been a little bit over 2 months. Started shipping out early October.

It's really good stuff and I have applied it in just about every imaginable environmental situation (hot and humid to almost freezing and raining), and every time, removal was perfect. Best Zaino product I have used so far, which is saying a lot.

what you guys reccomend on black? klasse sg, poorboys ex or this new zaino? also can this new zaino be topped with wax like pinnacle souveran for the wetness? i got the white cap and before i had the red cap

Ya know I thought about being piss*d for a while because I have about a 6 month supply (4.5) bottles, but this stuff I got is still the best stuff I have in my basket of goodies. I'll look forward to trying it at the end of next year.

Greg,

I got one of the first Z2-Pro public edition in mid-September. Sept, Oct, Nov plus 16 days in Dec = 3 months. Excuse me for not being overly precise. ;)

The white cap now ONLY signifies the new version of Z2 (aka Z2-Pro), not Z2 shipped over a year ago or even 5 months ago. My original Z2 (~3 years ago had a white cap) :wavey

Though some may have received the new version later than others does not take away from how well this Z2-PRO works now for everybody.

It is so user friendly that even Wally World weekend warriors can follow the directions. Now if we could teach them to PREP and not depend on a LSP hiding abilities, the Zaino system would be completely dummy-proof. :D
