Another QEW thread (UK)

Having read all about this wonderful QEW, having seen all the pics, having been (kinda) convinced it's safe to use.........

Does anybody know where in the UK we can get hold of this, or something similar?

I've done web searches and found......nothing :(

:nixweiss :nixweiss :nixweiss :nixweiss :nixweiss :nixweiss

I've been looking too! Trouble is, its hard to know exactly what we are comparing to. For example I found some products for washing buses that looked similar, but I don't want to use my car as a test!

You can import it from camping world and they say its about 20 to 25 USD for shipping a gallon.

Yes, I'd be interested in a UK source for this as well, but alas I haven't found one either. Would be real useful during the winter, when it's too dirty to use PB Spray & Wipe

I've emailed camping world for up-to-date shipping prices for 1 gallon initially, and then how much extra for each additional gallon.

I'll report back as soon as I hear anything :)

I'd be interested in some if we're talking a group buy here....?

I wouldn't use truck wash - it's the kind of thing used for large commercial vehicles and is hideous on car paint. A mate of mine used to swear by it for the BBS alloys on his Mk.II Golf TI 16 valve - until they started peeling - and that was heavily diluted!

I'd just love to say goodbye to frozen hosepipe syndrome forever!!!!

With the pound/dollar exchange being at a record 12 year high (in our favour) it's gotta be the right time to bring all the goodies we need from the US.

I bet your PC was cheaper than mine now the rate is better!

Have you guys tried http://www.protectall.com/database.asp , it's the dealer locator. Might be a place near you. :)

Yup tried that......and here's what it said for 'outside US/Canada'........

"Search for a Dealer near you:

Our database has no listings for this area. Since our Retailer Database will not always be 100% complete, you may not find your local stores listed. In this event we suggest that you call your local RV, motorcycle, marine, auto or house wares store and ask if they stock the Protect All products you want. You can also visit our links page to shop online or go to the order now button on this site."

EDIT.....beat to the post again :(

Evening Alex......I'd say your ears should be on fire mate!

I'm going to have a word with a pal of mine this weekend. He works as sales manager for these guys

http://www.selden.co.uk/

I'm sure they will either have something suitable or maybe even might consider looking at developing something....will let you have some feedback.

News Just In........

Just received email back from camping world

Shipping for 1 gallon is $19.40

Shipping for 2 gallons is $25.66

Above that :nixweiss but at a guess I would say each extra gallon could be $6.26 (the difference between 1 and 2)

Shipping will be done by FedEx International and they are quoting a couple of business days for delivery.

The price per gallon of QEW from camping world is $25.19 after joining their club.

I am prepared to order for those who want it, but please remember that there will be the postage (approx £7) in UK to pay on top, for me to distribute it. I also don't know if we'd get clobbered by customs charges too.

Going by the figures i've got and assuming I were to order 10 gallons it would work out at approx £25.50 per gallon. If you then figure in possible customs charges it comes to approx £30. Please note that the final price may be higher or lower depending on quantities actually ordered.

As it is holiday time (yippeeeeee :D) it may be best to hold off ordering until next year, a couple of weeks.

So if you want some either send me a PM or email to tnoy66@ntlworld.com

I'm now kinda hoping that a nice generous (warm eared) young man with plenty of experience of selling detailing goodies will jump in and say he'll take over :p :D

By the way Alex, I received my SFP, thank you :xyxthumbs

Tony.

Yep, could definately feel them heating up again!! lol :D....

An educated guess tells me you will be hit for the import duty + VAT at this end.

Cheers :)

Remember they also charge you duty & VAT on the carriage charge as well & FedeX will charge a handling fee of approx £10-£12 for expediting the consignment (getting it through customs etc.)

If the carriage charges are correct then just over £18.50 (@ 1.75 EXCH rate) plus about £4.50 duty & handling per gallon based on 10 gallons plus distribution in the UK.

I will take 4 gallons as I have 3 mates locally who will have one & I am only 45 mins from Huddersfield so I can collect.

Is it worth approaching the maunfacturer for a 'trade' price for quantity?

Thanks vidaloo your order has been noted.

Once I know how many each person wants, I will contact them again and try to get a better price.

The sooner I know quantities the better.

I've sent an email to the manufacturer too, to see what they have to say
