As mentioned earlier, the preferences are certainly an issue when it comes to choosing a product. Sometimes, these type of preferences are all one has to go by when getting products that are similar. They are relevant to buying anything. Now on to performance. In my preferences Z-Bar is better than the rest. Now to convince of the actual performance, or not.
Mothers VS. Z-Bar ( performance only )
Mother's Clay bar seems to have a slight problem with staying fresh for long periods of time. After several uses the clay seems to become a little crumbly, but not that bad. The biggest problem I noticed with the mothers compared to the Z-Bar is the lack of ability of mothers to pick up the contaminants on just one or two passes. I found myself still going over spots I went over before with mothers. The Z-Bar seems to take care of all the contaminanats on the first pass. I noticed myself using mothers and going over spots several times and having to really work on a spot. The Z-bar has no problem picking everything up on the first pass. This is mothers clay bars biggest problem. The Z-bar just picks everything up and leaves nothing but a perfectly smooth finish. Also, the QD that comes with it does not seem to work well with the bar. The bar seems to drag too much. This along with meguiars are my least favorite bars.
Pinnacle Vs. Z-Bar ('')
A good bar. Though, when there were tough spots on the car I still had to make more than one pass. The Z-Bar get's it right the first time and the only time. Demolishes all the contaminants. I had a slight problem with the bar and lubrication. It seemed to slide better than the mothers but not as good as the Z-Bar. Little jumps every now and then. Not a bad bar.
Claymagic/3Mperfect it 3 cleaner clay VS Z-Bar ('') Not too impressed with this product. Both seem almost identical. Both of them had the same basic problems with the other bars. They just don't pick the contaminants up as well as the Z-Bar. I am not talking about 2002 vehicles or 2001. We are talking 97,98 vehicles with contaminants. The bars just did not impress me when it came to removing major contaminant problems. Rather dissapointed in comparison with the Z-bar
z18 VS Z-Bar
My friend threw his bar in the garbage and picked up the Z-Bar. He only used it three times. I did not use it, but that does say something after he used mine.
As, I said the preferences in my previous post were split up into different clay bars mentioned by jngr(approx 4). The Z-bar has all the characteristics that some of the others don't. Also, from having contrast I believe it does a much better job of picking up contaminants than the other bars.
I just did a test today with the Clay magic bar and the Z-Bar. Had a piece of contaminant on the hood. I did a couple swipes with the claymagic bar, It still was not perfectly smooth. One pass with the Z-Bar and it took off everything that was there that the Claymagic left.
Like I said, I have contrast of all the bars I mentioned and my friend. This clay bar has ALL the preferences that I like, and it picks up contaminants better in all the cases. Again, Try it. If not, and you guy's just BELIEVE it's another clay bar like the rest of the "bunch" then it's your loss. I am just sharing this amazing product with you. I have contrast between the most talked about clay bars on this forum and the Z-bar. I don't lose a thing by you guy's not listening or trying the product. I gave you the link to the website as asked, I gave the preferences, I gave the contrast between the bars, I gave examples.
Also, the Z-bar you want to use with car wash soap. Save the QD for in between washings. Hands down better Clay bar then the others I tried. That is MY review. Z-Bar beats all other clay bars I mentioned.
