Corey Bit Spank said:I think the real reason to reduce emissions is to improve the health of America in general. There are a great deal of diseases which are caused by pollution. This is not debated. I would become defensive if somebody told me I was more responsible for the increase in pollution related diseases due to my lifestyle choices.
The truth is that Americans have lost the compassion that they once had for each other. It's about the individual American right to choose and so they draw an illogical conclusion that it also means they lack a greater responsibility when making their decisions. Flaunting the right to choose is seen as patriotic. It somehow makes people more American if they choose cars that are impractical because they don't need a reason. Uber American!
Agreed. I hate the idea of going for a run in Chicago and breathing in part of the 40 million tons of CO2 that's emitted every day. It's gross and not good to be breathing in.
