Age of autopians

46 years young Been messing with cars since 15 doing auto electronics for over 20 years Now head supervising computer specialist. always been into keeping my cars in pristine condition. Really got deep in the past 10 years and between this site and other forums it has honed my skills. Now I run a weekend Detail biz

Turning 28 in a couple weeks. I did some "detailing" for neighbors back in high school. Can't say I really knew a whole lot about what I was doing back then. Anywho...I got out of it for a while why I was an apartment dweller. Got back into (big time) about 4 years ago when my wife & I bought our first house. I quit my full-time IT job last fall to detail full-time. Wish I would have done it sooner.

57, I learned to hand rub finishes at 14 and have been into it since then. This forum has taught this old dog some really good tricks. Thanks everyone!

17. Been doing it for about a year since I got the truck. Fortunately my time in the "I think I know a lot about detailing and use Dawn, a kitchen sponge, and old t-shirt" phase was only about 2 months.

30 years old, been detailing seriously for about 3 years - ever since I bought a new Subaru WRX and wanted to keep it looking new!

40 years old. Started to take serious car of my cars about 15 years ago when I kept seeing the Klasse twins advertised in those Harrington mail order magazines. So I ordered it and I've been ordering and ordering new and different stuff ever since. I started doing family and friends cars. The neighbors started asking me to do their cars and then co-workers. And then started getting referrals from those people. Its turned into a nice little side business for me. Its nice to have a hobby that has the potential to earn you some $. I've been obsessive with my other hobbies (audiophile/mountian biking) but they strictly emptied my wallet.

25 years old...just got into detailing around 1 year ago...i was using TWCW thinking it was the best thing invented...boy am i humbled now

45 for 4 more weeks.....Been into car care since the 70's when I took over grandpas '65 Malibu.

"The less hair I keep, the more head I get".......

55 :nervous: . i have been rubbing on cars since 12-14 (can't remember now  ). my dad always drove detailed cars by me. i started using turtle wax black vinyl top dressing (came with a foam applicator) in the earily 70's to dress my tires!!!! who new? paid for a "professional" detail one time in the late 80's and never again. i keep a C6, CTS and avalanche "spit" shined 24/7 just for giggles. THIS IS A GREAT SITE WITH GREAT INFORMATION FROM SUPER AUTOPIANS. :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

Soon to be 63 here. started keeping my Dads early 60's Dodges clean. Used Vista and Simonize, SOS pads on the white walls back then. Gas was 23.9 a gal. Moved on to my own cars. About 5 years ago I bought a Miata just as a toy and found this forum via Miata.net and the rest is history. Keep busy with my 2 cars, a pickup, a 25' boat, my daughters Corvette and her new black Cadilac CTS. Have another Vette and a performance Mustang I look after.

23, going to be 24 early next month. As with many of the people here, my father is a vehicle freak and I learned from him. Its now to the point where I teach him, though, in both detailing (and associated products) and maintenance (charing brakes, messing with diffs, etc) :lol

17 here... started cleaning cars when i was about 15 with Terry Cloth Towels, Dawn, and I Bucket Method... no wonder they never came out clean :P

65 and been cleaning cars with a passion since I was 12 and stopped by to help a neighbour who ran a part time business "simonizing" cars. His garage was heated cement block construction with hot and cold running water and an abundance of lights. Still can't get it out of my system.
