After FK425

I've never noticed any problems from applying LSPs to a FK425'ed surface. FK even talks about using the FK425 before applying stuff, and also as an application-pad lube for some of their LSPs.

If you wash your car before you apply the LSP,[Duhhhh!] you will remove most of the 425 easily.

So 425 will only last for one wash? Then all gone? I was hoping to get at least 2 washes out of it. Meguiar UQD and other products refer to "lasts through multiple washes." Big Duhhh to me, I guess.

I've never used the UQD so I guess I shouldn't offer an opinion, but I'd be astounded if any QD lasted through "multiple washes".

I think the Megs UQD is supposed to almost be a sort of spray wax. ?

Yes, it is. And I thought the 425 was too, but with better dust repellant. I really like both products, and thought they did the same thing, but now it seems that 425 is a slick spray and wash vs. quick wax.

Actually, I've been using it for a couple of months now, and I think it does. The beading lasts through at least two of my washes. Don't know how long it would go since I always apply every other wash. I have been impressed with it.

Huh, OK...wouldn't have thunk it!

Perhaps I can't really discern stuff like that as my QDs don't usually change the beading (that I already have from my LSPs) enough to notice after a wash. I can sometimes see spots from bird-bomb removal that bead differently at the start of the wash, but they're back to normal by the time I wash and rinse.
