Thanks Bence! It didn't hit me that "voucher" meant coupon code...but I'm STILL resisting!

For an order of "I want to see if I like it?"....Try the sample pack..you will get the 425, 2180, pink wax and some other goodies.

Couldn't..........resist.........the........urge...............just ordered some #425. (lol)

How many times have we said......"Alright.....I'm done! Not ordering anymore detailing stuff!" Only to find yourself placing an order for yet another product you really don't need! That urge has cost me about $800.00 this past year. (lol)

Now keep in mind that my ever expanding, massive arsenal possesses a gallon each of CG's 3 QD's, a big ole bottle of QuickShine, 2 bottles each of Sonus Carnuaba Spritz,Acrylic Spritz & Acrylic Glanz, 2 1/2 bottles of Crystal Mist and a big ole bottle of Spray & Gloss. So it was "quite obvious" that I NEEDED to buy a gallon of #425! (lmao)

Don't even ask me about my collection of 48 bottles of cologne & my 10 different scents of deodorant! (lmao......Notice a pattern here?????? lol ) :dance

I got the sample pack a couple of weeks ago. 48 bottles of cologne WOW, I only have about 9-10 and a bunch of samples, and I thought I had alot, LOL

Thanks to everybody who responded about the FK1 425 and bonding and the comparisons between it and OCW.

I *do* sorta wonder if I'd like the look of the FK1 425 as much as the look of the OCW, noting that a) I do discern very minor differences in LSPs and b) I generally prefer the look of carnaubas; the "hard candy" look (Bence- good description BTW, I think I get exactly what you mean) is something I don't always care for.

Bill D- Anti-static, huh, hmmm the scales tip one way then the other ;)

OK, I'm gonna run out and check my QD supplies..[Accumulator runs out to shop, is mortified by all the QD he has accumulated, and runs back]..nope, I'm not buying *any* QD for quite a while :o Still very interested in some of these products though.

Accumulator,

I don't see FK 425's anti static properties as a trade off or compromise to the carnauba appearance.

I'm probably not as perceptive as others but I don't see a change in the appearance of my finish caused by the FK 425. I like the whole package: looks, slickness, light touch up ability, anti static.

However, I will challenge my perception at some point in time when I re apply carnauba, QD part of the car with a "control QD" ( I'm thinking S&W: just cleaning ability, no appearance enhancers), FK 425, and Crystal Mist, a carnauba-specific QD.

After that, if I perceive any significance appearance-wise, I may use one exclusively or more partially according to the needs I have for specific sections of the car :o :D

Accumulator, I'm sure that you'd love its look just because you'd notice a subtle difference. Unlike other synthetic candies, which produce a thicker, neutral CC look - even a sterile one - I associate the appearance of this product with warmer earth tones. Yes, it is clear, but it is adaptable. It looks fiery on red shades, and lives with the color. Besides, it is wonderfully functional on TV (even laptop) screens.

I suggest you to order the little demo set which contains 4 oz bottles of wash, plastic dressing, APC, sealant, glaze, this QD and a 2 oz tin of the Pink Wax. For around 20 bucks an impressive kit.

Bence- The way you're addressing my concerns and expressing your views is almost uncanny! Talk about being on the same wavelength...OK, maybe I *will* have to try it sometime after all. But seriously, I'm really not gonna buy any more products until I have an undeniable need (as opposed to an undeniable compulsion ;) ) to do so. Over 10 gallons  of QD for a non pro who hardly ever uses the stuff?!? I really do need to use up some of what I have!

Bill D- Heh heh, I'll take issue with the notion that you're less perceptive than others (I know the kind of lighting you use ;) ).

When I'm finally ready to try this stuff, I'll be interested in how it compares to CM, especially when used as "spit". It'd be nice if I could get down to #34 for polishing wipe downs and one other QD for everything else. I'd sorta planned on just using QuikShine for everything, but if the FK1 425 is better....

I tried Quick Shine after the Big Fuss everyone was talking about. Nothing Special. Also the Fk1 # 425 says it is anti-static but thats a selling point. I have found that Adams QD performs the best IMO. It has a better cleaning/Shinning/Gloss/Wet Ability than most. Clearkote Quick shine is not something i would recommend becasue it is to watery & has almost no cleaning ability, However the Wolfgang Spritz also works awesome. The adams just makes QD'ing much easier & much better.

(Post is only for those who use OTC products :))

I was just doing a search about QDs and found quite a few postive remarks about Mother's Showtime. I was wondering if Meguair's Mist and Wipe ID was similar in quality.

Miami_vice- In *my* situation the cleaning ability doesn't matter, I only use these products on already-clean surfaces.

John Styrnol- I don't think too many people would want to trade their FK1 425 for some five year old (shake and shake and shake and still  ) Griot's Speed Shine or the EFCP either. Consolidating two garages into one has left me with an odd collection of stuff.

But hey, I'd gladly trade a gallon of EFCP for a quart of FK1 425.

Ah, thanks for bringing that up too. I will certainly experiment in my next spit shine.

Has anyone mentioned the best of the best - Menzerna High Gloss Acrylic Shield? You can just about use this QD in place of things like Klasse SG! The problem is it is a bit expensive and not easily found.

I examined and compared two panels with my lips ;) , and it is night & day! The other panel had Mothers Reflection on it which is slick enough for the fingertips but the 425 is a stunner! (Be sure that you are alone when you do this...)
