A real bad day with Menzerna P085RD...

put it on the car instead of the pad. use ~8 inch bead of product, get the rotary rpms up and "pick up the product" with the rotary by going over it at a slightly raised angle.

It probably doesn't break down because its not generating enough heat. Don't be afraid to crank it up a bit, some where around 1400. The stuff literally disappears, completely different when using it with the pc.

Well as I mentioned before, Mizzuri was doing it at 1000 and under and the results he got from RD 3.01 and RD were unbelievable

I once was using 1200-1500 rpm but actually get better results with lower speed

In my personal opinion, Mizzuri is the best rotary user in australia and I've seen alot of people using a rotary in the last eight years

His new buffer, either a fein or festool is pretty awesome, must get me one of them

Are both PO85RD products available to detailers in the USA

They are available in australia in 1 litre size at the $40-45 dollar mark

Used both products on a white 95 hilux yesterday and did a side to side comparison on the hood between them and the original IP, FP1 and FP

85RD's brought it up very nicely at the speeds I mentioned previously. I clayed after buffing as paint was pretty rough

From a certain angle, it looked like the older polishes removed more orange peel but other angles revealed the opposite.

As for gloss, not much between all of them

I used swedish brand, Dinitrol 7020 wet look solvent free anti static polish w/ rotary after RD to finish and got brilliant result

Will see how they compare on a dark colored car.

1500 rpm on a LC Polishing Pad. Use a 6-8 inch bead for a 2'x2' area. Make 3 slow, overlapping passes. This has never let me down

Sean,

Should I spray 2-3 sprays of QD or water each time I apply the the P085RD polish to the pad?

lastly after my pad is primed, howm much P085RD do I apply subsequent times?

I mean like a ring around the pad, or 2 dime size drops etc. thanx a bunch :)

Bump,

Any help?

I never prime my pads. I have no idea why people do this.

I also hardly ever apply the product to the pad but almost always to the car. I never "smear" the product around the car either as this just causes the product to flash off too soon.

My initial product application is about a quarter size and from then on about a nickel size.

Thanx for helping Anthony. :)

So you don't put the 8' bead, rather a quarter size drop* or nickel drop?

* --> Does a "quater size drop" mean a full blob quarter size or the a circle of product drawn to a wuater size?

Sorry for all these strange questions, but it's just that after 7 months of learning here at Autopia, 278 posts, and my first detailing experience (not as well as I had hoped), I am still such a noob.

But thanx (everyone) for the help once again.

It means a quarter "filled" size. About the circumference of a quarter and perhaps just slightly thicker.

Just keep at it and you'll get the hang of it.

I got a PC now so how would i use P085RD with it?

I mean,

What speed on the dial?

How much product? Pressure?

What's the sign that I am ready to buff off the product? Al that good stuff.

I've read many people got great results with P085Rd and a PC. The rotary and P085Rd are still not working out for me. They just don't seem to work together. maybe I need a new Rotary.

A little bit off topic but the topic I wanted to post this in was locked. Anyway they were talking about final polish and final polish II and what they were called in Europe. Here in Sweden PO85RD is called Micro Polish

SVR: I am from Sweden and I don´t think I ever have seen anyone I know using Dinitrol. How much did you pay for 7020 De lux?

I have used PO85RD on my black old golf with no clear coat. It worked great! I have also done light metallic cars with great sucess.

Hi porta

I payed $20 australian dollars for the 1 litre bottle from a paint & panel shop supply company that also sell Sikaflex, Sikkens, Farecla, Rupes, 3M and used to sell NORTON

Dinitrol aka DINOL is probably not highly known even in sweden as most of the detail products are probably only used by detail shops due to the size you can buy them in

Have never tryed any other product of their polish line but I absolutely love 7020

Smells like apples and is solvent and voc free which I really like.

I think Micro Polish is the true name of Final Polish II.
