a question for the members and mods please

Just letting you know that there are other products that are worth a damn from Eagle One. I really don't know of a single person on this site who uses their wax though. But then again, the only waxes from auto parts stores that get much mention here are Meguiar's 26 and Gold Class, Mothers and yes at times Zymol. Laters.

Eagle One's waxes seem too weak for the enthusiasts at Autopia. One of their waxes contains Teflon in it and we all know how much Teflon amounts to nothing..

Other than that, Eagle One does have some decent products as mentioned before that definately have a place in my detailing arsenal.

<strong class='bbc'>I did find Tanner's Preserve, at $4.95 for 7.5oz. I am thinking of trying them if they are cheaper than lexol.[/b]</blockquote>
I tried that Tanner's Preserve stuff and it is pretty sorry. Didn't clean well, hardly any "dirty lifting suds" and was just all around poor IMO. I just recently tried Lexol and no way am I going back!

I'd highly recommend both of Lexol's mainstream products. You hardly use any Lexol compared to that stuff so the price should NOT be a deterrent.

I'm not referring to their cleaner, just their conditioner. It soaks into the leather quickly, leaves a light sheen and no greasy feeling at all.

Josiah-the Woolite I am talking about is their regular laundry stuff-you know, the Woolite that is gentle on sweaters. Even Cadillac used to recommend it for cleaning their leather. Now they just recommend a gentle soap.

To everyone who is saying good things about Eagle products-not one of you is using their waxes, and if you will re-read my first post, that was what I was referring to-they don't make very good waxes.

I use their waxes, I find they got less oils in them and more wax in the bottles anyway (compared to Meguiars), I find them ok.......but this is probly cuz im an Aussie and to give u an example, Meg 26 sells for 30$ here, Meg Gold Class retails for 37$!!! now when I can get Eagle 1 for 12$ a bottle on special im gunna go buy it! And I do put it over my Klasse and it doesnt remove any Klasse, doesnt even remove stains from Armor All Car Buddy crap I used on it a week b4. Teflon on my car might be handy one day too if im out on a hot day and have some eggs with me :up

Yeah, but Meguiars #26 won't dry white in the emblems and between body panels. Prices are pretty comparable here.

Well, maybe, but unless you apply the wax at over 600 degrees, the Teflon is not a viable ingedient, just a worthless additive. Teflon in wax is marketing hype and nothing more.

Scott, no flame is intended here but in your post you mentioned something like, "So Eagle One makes another product that is worth a damn." Actually this statement refers to the entire line of Eagle One products. You're implying that out of everything that Eagle One makes, there might actually be another decent product. Laters.

Yeah, but I also noted my main complaint was their line of waxes. I have been so unimpressed with them, that I have tried very few of their other products. The only reason I even tried 20/20 is because I was having a specific problem with haze on interior windows of new cars, and 20/20 was initially advertised touting it's ability to remove the haze.

Eagle is definately not in the top tier of detailing products, but I certainly would place them above that Once a Year polish.

Again, you're labeling an entire line of products, and again I know you're wrong.

:o

I posted my review of Eagle One Concours under the product review section if anyone wants to check it out. :up

Okay, how about if I modify my statement to say that Eagles <strong class='bbc'>waxes[/b] are not in the top tier of waxes? Jeez, I already acknowledge I like and use their glass cleaner:rolleyes:

Do you use their waxes? Would you use them on a show car, over, say Zaino or Blitz? Their waxes might be fine for the average consumer, but not the high end detailer. If they were, I would be using them.

so my son in law just purchased a Mercedes E550 coupe (sweet!) and is going to Germany in a few weeks to pick it up and drive around for week. the car is then shipped to him in 6-10 weeks. his birthday is upcoming and i thought i'd get him some "proper" detailing supplies. at christmas i stuffed his stocking with a single Dragon Fiber buffing cloth with the cryptic message "more to come." i was thinking about a clay/lubricant package (it'll need it) and a wax/sealant/quick detailer package with some appropriate microfiber towels. i've already clued my daughter into 2 bucket method/grit guards/ no dealer prep (wash/detail) to mar the finish. so what products would you all put into my son in law's birthday package? thanks to all who respond.

There is alot of products you can go with.My advise is give Angelo a call and he will set you right up with what you need and discuss what your trying to accomplish with the car.Yes clay and lube some micro fibers and some wax would be a great start.

Great advice from Adam. A simple phone call to our friend Angelo and he'll hook you up right. That's a great idea as a gift!

Wish him good luck with his new car for us!

Thank you Adam and Paul. They are right, just drop me line and we can get your son-in-law hook right up with the proper car care products he will need.

ANgelo is definately the man. He can absolutely fill that basket for you with all the right products.:Dancing Dot:
