a question for the members and mods please

articwhite,

The bottles that I got don't say anything about UV protection. So, it might have it....then again it may not. I applied it to the tires on my Explorer on Sunday. I must say thus far I am very impressed with this product. Its not quite a matte finish, but it is not glossy either. In the right light you can see a very very light sheen. I think it makes the tires look new, and I could see Concours people using this product. I am waiting a little while before I post a review to see if I get any browning, and I want to get a good idea of how long the product lasts. But my intial impression is a good one. :up :up :up

I have only seen this particular product in a spray form.

Showroom - I'm anxious to hear what you have to say about durability. :bounce

Hay Showroom L waer in Cincy is this place , and what's the name of it. I get all my 3M stuff at a KOI paint shop , they have Wizards products , Race Glaze , All Meguiar's pro products , rotary polishing pads DA pads and more.

Thanks.

FLONI,

The Eagle One Concours is a spray that comes in a 18oz bottle.

Andre',

The place in Cincy that has it is on the west side of town. It is on North Bend Rd. and it is called Classic Cars Preformance Parts and Accessories. I am not sure of the address, but they are in the phone book. That is the only place in Cincy I have found that carries this stuff, I have looked everywhere and it was a major PITA to find.

But E1 Satin Finish Tire Shine used to be called Concours Tire Dressing & Protectant. Same stuff, new name.

I've been using Concours for maybe 10 years and it's great. One of the best things is that the more often you use it, the less product you need to make your tires look great. Let it soak in then buff off. You get that "just popped out of the mold" look.

I recall Chad at E1 telling me it had a UV protectant but that was a long time ago. I can follow up with him if anyone wants me to.

<strong class='bbc'>I have been using the Eagle One Satin for a couple months now. Great stuff, and way better than I expected. Seems to last on the tire longer than both 303 and Vinylex, with a sheen that is somewhere between the two. I use an Eagle One Swipe when applying, and I let it sit for about 15 minutes before buffing off with a terry towel. [/b]</blockquote>
So there is another Eagle product other than their 20/20 glass cleaner that is worth a damn? :up

I'll have to give it a try, especially if it has a satin finish instead of that greasy, oily look so many tire protectants have. I will continue to stay away from Eagle's waxes, though. Nothing like stuff that dries white and hazes black plastic to ruin your day.

Better yet, find out how long it takes for UV degradation to occur on tires, and the circumstances that cause failure.

Tire manufacturers put a UV blocker into the composition of the tires. Unless you rarely drive a vehicle that is parked in the sun, additional UV protection for tires is overrated in my opinion.

Scottwax,

Actually Eagle makes many products that others (including myself) have reported good results with. Specifically...

Tire cleaner

A-Z Wheel cleaner

Leather cleaner/conditioner

20/20 glass

Satin Tire dressing

..maybe more.

I agree with RH. Eagle One makes a few good products. Many of us here on the board respect this line of products. Even David B. mentioned that he likes a few of their products. Don't forget they have a good quick detailer and their scratch remover is also sold at CMA. Laters.

Eagle One Products I've used and gotten good results with:

Wet Wipe'N Shine

Leather Cleaner

Leather Conditioner

Tire Cleaner

Tire Swipes (had to throw that one in)

Don't let that price tag fool you.

Eagle One makes some quality products which I occasionally use. Some of them include the Leather Cleaner/Conditioner, Tire Cleaner (best out there), and QD'er

I am more or less referring to the quality of Eagle's waxes. Any company that ever sold any wax purporting to contain Dupont's Teflon® loses all my respect concerning their waxes. Besides, every wax of theirs I have tried leaves white residue and heaven help you if you accidently get any on black trim.

I don't use wheel cleaners of any kind. Car soap is much safer to use. No chance of using the wrong cleaner, nor do I have to wait for the wheels to cool down, so their wheel cleaner (or anyone else's) is of no use to me. I've tried their leather cleaner and the conditioner, and they work fine, but I've found a mixture of Woolite and water (6 parts water to 1 part Woolite) is an excellent leather cleaner (Park Place Lexus/Mercedes recommends the same to their customers), and Tanner's Preserves to be the best conditioner I've tried. It soaks in quickly, leaves the leather soft and grease free.

I do like Eagle's 20/20 glass cleaner though. Damn good stuff. Cheap, too.

Scottwax, where did you get your Woolite cleaner? Is it a special leather cleaner, or just the regular cleaner that they make? I cannot find it anyplace on the 'net... I did find Tanner's Preserve, at $4.95 for 7.5oz. I am thinking of trying them if they are cheaper than lexol.
