A LONG lasting tire shine

Back on July 4th I came across a product I decided to test. I think this product might have a place as an up charge service. This product is called Tuf-Shine and is a very long lasting tire shine. While testing it I had many clients and others ask me how I kept my tires looking great for so long. This product is like a sealant for tires. It is not a petrol based product, but rather water based. You must remove ALL previous tire shine products for this stuff to adhere; you get a great cleaner with the tire shine that will do the job VERY well.

Let me just say I’m not connected with this company in any way!

I have really tired to test this with many conditions. I did not wash the tires for 2weeks, I took my explorer on 20+ miles of 4x4 trails, and through several days of rainstorms it held up and looked great I even curbed my tires and scraped the shine off, I just did a quick re-apply and it’s very hard to tell. While the shine reduced some, it is very much still there. The only test I have yet to do is can it be topped with other products, but why would you do this??

<O:p</O:p

I have this product on my mother in laws Honda Odyssey, my wife’s Odyssey and both of them are 3 weeks since application and its going great.

<O:p</O:p

After a few more weeks of testing I’m going to “stripâ€ it off and see how easy it is to remove………..why because some might not like the look. Most of the people seem to be willing to pay 20$ for this longer lasting tire shine.

I have taken several photos of the tests, including a video of the wash and wipe down after the 4x4 trail trip.

While this may not be for you the discerning Autopian, my clients are lining up after my simple tests are done to get this on their tires.

Interesting product Greg. Does the product sling at all? Can it be dilluted with water and maybe used on engines/wheel-wells? Can it be dry wiped to knock down the gloss if wanted?

Yes, I got some a really good dirty rain for 2 days. I am really waiting on our harsh winters to see, but so far I think the stuff will do great. You can do touch ups and revamp the shine as needed.

Cheers,

David,

the product needs 10 minutes to dry and NO sling! I can see how dilutions work, I was told I could dilute on the tires to reduce the gloss. I don't think its all the glossly with two coats.

Weekendwarrior,

I have not tired it on any plastic moldings, I guess I should. It is suppose to have some UV protectants.

Cheers,

So dirt does not stick?

If you were to swipe your finger on the side wall after a few weeks, your finger would not be dirty???

Okay,I must be on the right track! I just bought some of the Tuf Shine today on line. I can't wait to try it. I'll do befores and afters and get up some pic as soon as I can. Thanks for the tip Greg. I could not resist either! :up

The cleaning process is the KEY. You will be surpirsed at how much crap is on your tires.

The application is very easy, I suggest two applications.

Greg, test is on wheel wells for me...if its just as solid, I am sold!
Use CD2 on wheel wells. Lasts amazingly long. Ive had it on mine now for going on 3-4 months and its looks like the day I applied it.

After reading this I need to make something clear..........

You cannot Dilute the product, if you do the product cracks. What I mean by dilute is if you have a damp applicator (the one they send you) and use the damp sponge this will dilute the product to produce a matte finish.

AGAIN, you cannot dilute the product with water like you would say an APC.

GREG

I did some checking on this. I could do the wheel wells, but after contacting the company, they sell a product called black restore which is very similar but is tinted black. From what I see, this also could be a nice product for wheel wells and other exterior trim. I may pick some up to test out.

Cheers,

GREG
