A couple of Ferrari F430's

Hi all! Did a couple of F430's this week so I thought I'd share! The first was a new one and actually the last new F430 that I'll probably detail :(. Although there were quite a few RDS they only wanted me to do a 1-stage so I went with S17 and a finishing pad using the method I described in this thread. No befores on this one, but as I've said there were some RDS and a few holograms that needed to be dealt with... the new owner is a retired woman :D! I tried to rush back from lunch to ask her if she needed a new cabana-boy, but she'd already sped off to bingo night by the time I got there... Here's the afters, just before delivery protected with InstaFinish Premium Wax:

This next one is a 2-year old that's got about 13,000k on the clock. The owner doesn't drive it much so I informed him about my complimentary "car walking" service where I take the car out for a stretch, fresh air, to play with other cars, release any excrement, etc. For some reason I don't think he took me seriously :). I didn't see any factory installed hollies, but I'm sure they were there... I could feel them... It did however have a lot of scratches all over it... way to many to go into "seek and destroy" mode by hunting down each and every one individually so we (Flexcalibur and I... we make joint decisions you know) decided to Rambo the entire car with InstaFinish #2 (YEAH!! My order finally arrived yesterday!!)

and a wool pad followed by InstaFinish #2 and a polishing pad using the above mentioned method. I gave this little pony a hand job lubed with V1ntage... I don't know if it was just the bloody hot weather, humidity or because the stars weren't aligned properly, but it was a PITA to remove! I think that's the last hand job I give with V1ntage... Anyhoo, the owner was happy and I'll be going back next week to do his blue Quattroporte :)! Here's da goods (it was mission impossible trying to pick up the scratches in this light and on this color, but believe me there were plenty of them ;)):

A big scuff on the front wing just above the bumper.

Had to do a little wet-sanding in a couple of places with 2000 grit.

The inside was also vacuumed and leather was dressed with InstaFinish Leather Conditioner... also I left my signature box of Tic Tacs :). I think this was probably about a %98 correction, which took almost 15 hours.

Nice pics and quite a collection of product there. With all those gallon jugs you should be set for a while -- hope you're getting a volume discount.

The Tic Tacs on the center console is funny -- with a car like that, does it really matter what your breath smells like HAHAHA :)

awesome machines and awesome work as expected! when i picture a woman playing bingo i dont picture the type of woman that would drive an F430!!!

If you have problems with the V1ntage................email SuperBee he will lay out how he uses it better than I can.

Cars look great! I saw a California today and its covered in light halos, I guess Palo detailed this care too.

Cheers,

GREG

^^^Likely because F430 is being replaced in the near future.

OP, great job and awesome pics! Must admit though that any exotic with a front license plate makes me cringe. Traffic laws are truly draconian in Europe.

Thanks Greg, I'll shoot him a PM! Only light halos? That one must have been done by the 2nd stringers... :)

Nearly every state here in the US requires the front plate too... Spoils the look of the car I think.

Yup, it's such a crap law...

True, except that the plate law isn't enforced in most of those states; at least not nearly at the level that it is in Europe. The use of traffic cams probably has something to do with it. California and a handful of northeastern states are the only ones that care much at all about this law. The car culture in the US sort of ensures that cops feel our pain as well; a good friend is a cop here in Denver and he was mentioning how him and his colleagues consider it a waste of time to pull anyone over for this when there are other important things to look out for.

I have never put the front plate on my 350Z and have never had an issue. I've been pulled over for speeding in it TWICE but neither cop even mentioned this infraction. Before that, I lived front-plate-free in Wisconsin for 5 years and again, never had an issue there either.

BTW OP, I see a California in the background in pic#5. Ever had the chance to detail one of those? I just saw one on the road last week (midnight blue) and it looks fantastic. I agree that its design isn't for everyone but in person, I found it spectacular!
