GOT PREP?
You know how customers always tell you "it's not that bad" or it is "near perfect?" We all know what that means, break out the big guns and pack a lunch. :)

I actually had quite the opposite experience on Sunday. The guy told me that the paint was near perfect, and it was. When I arrived on the scene, he had taken the liberty of washing the wheels, tires, and wheel wells. :woot2: I was able to just focus on the paint.

The car has less than 43,000 miles on it and is in *very* good condition.

The process was:

QEW

Menzerna IP via rotary @1700 RPM's (poilshing pad)

OP via rotary @1400 RPM's (polishing pad)

Z6 wipe down

ZPC via pc @ speed 5 with polishing pad

Z6 wipe down

3 coats of ZFX enabled Z2 PRO

Z8 wipe doen

zaino on all glass

no dressing per customer request

Since it was raining on Sunday, I didn’t get any full sun after shots, Harold was nice enough to take thses today and email them to me—THANKS!!!

Oddly enough, the owner sold the car today. A guy flew all the way in from Houston, took delivery, and drove home. :dance

Looks great. Which specific polishing pad did you use?

I used the Meguiars polishing pad for every step except the ZPC, which I switched to a S.M. Arnold green light polishing pad--the pads are interchangable IMO.

I did have to use several as the ZPC dusts like a champ.

Also, should my ZFX bottle have been half full?

THANKS!!!

Paint did look pretty good in the before shots. Full credit to him for that, but it just looks great in the after shots.

Beauty, looks like LowFlight's '91 ZR-1. Looks like the windshield has a little delamination around the edges, but not bad. Car looks great!

I really like how those B&B tips look, but what I hear about the volume I don't know... I'm leaning towards Corsas but don't really think the tip style matches the car...

No money shot of that beating heart?

Looks like about the easiest detail you've had in a while, paint looked really good under those lights in the befores. 99% of people would probably be pretty happy if their car looked like that under those lights...but the other 1% are autopians and nothing short of perfect is good enough! I can't see a single swirl in any of the after pics, really excellent buffing! The paint itself looks really wet!

Fantastic work!

If you got really significant dusting from ZPC, you might have used too much and/or worked it a bit too long. It does dust some, but it shouldn't be too much.

I found the same with Menzerna 106FF. Just cut back a bit and it really helps. Also, removing the pad every so often and banging the dust out of it helps too.

beautiful work !! but I thought the zaino rule is to apply one coat of z2 pro, then wait 24hrs before the next layer of z2 ?

I got more compliments on the B&B system I had on my 2000 Camaro SS than any other catback I've ever run, and I've had Corsa, Magnaflow, GMMG, Borla and SLP on different cars at different times. It's not super loud, but you certainly know it's there, and the tone is so sweet.

That bright red paint on the ZR-1 looks fanstatic. I bet it was hard to get rid of that car.

Which BFG's are those? KD's?

With ZFX, you can apply up to 3 layers in one detailing session. To go beyond 3 layers though, you have to wait 24 hours.
