A 330i For A Fellow Member...Thoughts on UDM and 3.01

John, thanks! I made an attempt to use the UDM this past Saturday but didn't have the wrench to tighten the BP so I wasn't able to. I've seen the question asked a few times regarding the power of this machine to a rotary. While that's really a tough comparison to make I can say this: This machine is *more* powerful than the PC and doesn't bog anywhere near as easy. It has a longer throw as well. Based on that alone it will do more work than the PC. For it to do that same work as a rotary you're still going to need more time on your hands to accomplish those same results.

I plan to get more time with it this week and will report back once I have. Requests so far are (1) How does it compare to the rotary and (2) How does it compare to the Cyclo?

Excellent work Chris. Car looks stunning....

Great job on the wet sanding too... Sometimes, for the area you are working in, that is a real PITA to get at to repair clear after wet sanding...

Thanks Ryan. I used to use foam to work the paint up after sanding but wool does a much better job and does it faster than foam. It's almost fool proof. Almost....;)

Hi Chris,

Any thoughts yet on how the UDM compares to the Cyclo?

Great job. I am going to get some of that Menzerna P083 based upon this post !!! I have some Menzerna in my arsenal, but have not used their products in a while.

Tom, at this point I can say that the UDM will do about the same amount of work as the Cyclo *BUT* the Cyclo will cover more area at a time. The Cyclo is also more of a pleasure to use and does a killer job on interiors.

Dean, you'll like PO83.:) It works well via PC and 5 inch orange pads.
