99 BMW 740il Calypso Red 148k and garage remodel

Our 99 740il w/ 148k miles.

She has not been washed in 6-8 weeks and I finally had a free afternoon yesterday to do something with the paint.

I had the last 2 weeks off to baby sit work being done on my garage. Had detailing gear packed away in a trailer. Prior to that was booked for the past 12 out of 13 weeks. I'm now booked thru the end of June with 2 cars a week. Plus still working my FT job. :out:

Process:
Washed with Dawn.
Tires and wheels cleaned.
Clay
Quick ZAIO white pad GG polisher speed 5.
1x of Z2pro
Z8
Z-16 on tires.

I have some new roundels for the wheels somewhere, misplaced during the garage work.

Best I can recall, its going on 3 years since I've done a major correction to this paint. Either ZAIO or ZPC. I would not call the paint perfect, but proper washing does pay off.

Maybe one day I'll do a full write up on the garage, but here are some before and after pics. Sorry it was still a little dusty in the after pics.

The house is 20 years old and of course the garage has taken a beating:

The floor was done with 100% solids epoxy and blue stone quartz sand.

Ceiling had the "popcorn" effect removed and walls where painted.

Air hose reel is now mounted in the attic near the existing compressor.

Will do some cabinets and more lighting in the future.

Looking great the BMW is, and the garaged looks like it's ready to be put back to work!

Thanks Angelo! Working on the truck now. Have a G37 tomorrow up in town, Wed a black GTI will be enjoying some much needed paint correction and the new garage. :)

that bimmer is a head turner for sure. now you can hook the garage up to suit your taste. have fun with it...

Thanks! I have some ideas for cabinets. In no hurry.

Bryan,
The bimmer looks great as does the garage. I am happy to see that you are so busy.:hurray:

Thanks Barry! Busy or not, my wife still says I will find something to complain about.

That garage is awesome, very clean now (of course) and I really like the air hose reel in the ceiling. :)

Thanks! A friend of mine had did his that way, really makes for a clean install.

Like color the car looks great. I like the garage very nicely done

Thanks Sal!

Car and garage both look great Bryan! I really like the drop down hose too....not to mention the placement of the compressor. :)

Thanks Chad! About 7-8 years ago my dad told me to put a compressor up in the attic. Of course I thought it was crazy. A few months later a 60 gallon was in the attic.

Looks really nice Bryan, both the car & garage.

Its nice to see someone keep a vehicle for 10-15 yrs & get your money out of them, and keep them in great shape as well.

Thanks Nick! We bought this one with 50k miles, should have it for another year or two.

Nice car. Love the color. Garage floor looks great. I have been holding off on doing my floor due to peeling. Hope your floor lasts a good bit.

A BMW stuck in a time freeze... very cool to see a car 2 generations back that looks better than most new ones today!

Garage is looking great too, plenty of space to handle whatever you need:clap:

That's what I am talking about!!, I bet people do a double take everytime they see your 740il. The garage is cleaness the way it should be. :spy:

Thanks Bob! I wanted to keep it just like that, but have stuff and a few vehicles that unfortunately need to go inside.

Thanks Sooner! If it ever peels, you will hear me rant all over the world. ~X(

Thanks David! Might look at a 07 or 08 in a year or two. I still prefer the looks of the E38 myself.

Did you really say garage and enough space in the same sentence?

Your wife's Bimmer is balling dawg.

The garage looks great :D

Thanks Todd! As soon as I get a frame, the garage will look a lot better.

Great job Bryan! The German sled be lookin' clean! :drool5:

Thanks playa!

Very nice all around...

Car looks awesome for so long with no correction and I am just loving the placement of the compressor and cut out for the hose - well done Sir! I will have to shamelessy steal that for my set up!

Did you do the floor DIY or did you hire someone... I'm still thinking about getting my floor done.

Absolutely. How did I miss this one? I was looking at those "during" pics of the garage on facebook and the end result is even nicer than I was expecting. Very very clean and fresh look. Hope all is well down south!
