I don't have a polisher. The first time I used Scratch X to take care of my swirl marks, I also thought it didn't do anything. Then after I read more here, I used the Scottwax technique and what fellow autopian Ray showed me (terry towel folded, put moderate pressure, and rub until you feel you are generating 'warmth' with friction, going left right up down diagnoal about 30seconds). It almost completely reduced the swirl marks (I said almost because you could still see a little spider webbing).
Scratch X does work, and it's on the same abrasive level as DACP, but doing it by hand still takes a lot of rubbing to achieve the effect.
