<strong class='bbc'>Congrats!

(Do you get a gun and a night stick? );) - (not that either is needed here, the best forum on the net) [/b]</blockquote>darbh,

No gun or night stick, but I did get this nifty cattle prod and an econo-size pack of D-cell batteries, so watch yer step :D :D :D Seriously, though, you're right . . . this forum has managed to avoid a lot of the silliness that goes on in other online communities.

Autopia, where signal drowns out the noise . . . :)

TortoiseAWD is absolutely right, this forum does manage to avoid much of the immature and silly comments that plague many other sites on the web. I would have to say (without hesitation) that this site definately qualifies as my home.

We could not ask for better moderators, or a better site! Looking forward to the spring already, so I can get seriously detailing again :).

Best regards.

I don't think living on this site qualifies one to be a moderator. Can you all think of someone who spends more time on this site than I do? Brad? DavidB? Naaaa!

<strong class='bbc'>TortoiseAWD - I would have thought you would at least get a bean bag gun, or, failing that, minimally, a Taser. [/b]</blockquote>darbh,

I asked for a spaced-based terawatt laser, but apparently there were budget issues. That, and the UN was uncomfortable with it . . . something about not wanting obsessive-compulsive types like me having the power of life and death. Wussies. :D

You are the man Don2000*. One of the last diehards left around. For a while I thought you owned this forum. :D

Hehe! Quite amusing remarks Koyaanisqatsi. There are numerous unhealthy, childish, profane or unsuitable web sites out there. At least my "fix" is a friendly and respectable site. Laters

I agree that his forum does not have all of the silliness that I have seen on other forums. The members here tend to be more mature and willing to help all newcomers. Keep up the good work !!!!!

:up :up

The owner of this beast contacted me back when he picked this up and we kept in contact about the car while it was in the body shop for the next several months. When it was all done and ready for wetsanding, it was dropped off to me for a few weeks.

The process for this car was pretty straightforward... Washed, clayed, wetsanded with 1500 and then 3000, compounding with M105 and wool pad and refined down with polishing on my rotary with multiple steps and numerous polish and pad combinations. Finished down with Menzerna PO85RD for a brilliant gloss. The car was then sealed with Blackfire Wet Diamond for a super deep look and ultra slick surface while still giving it months of protection.

Total time invested was approx 45 hours.

For you gearheads, here's what it's got

468 Cubic Inch Big Block Chevy
200-4R Automatic with overdrive, lockup and a 3500 stall
Narrowed 9" rear with locker and 3:73 gears
Wilwood disc brakes on all 4 corners
Weld Prostars with 31x18.50 Mickey Thompson Sportsmans
Autometer gauges
Power windows
Brand new painless wiring harness and weather stripping

Body mods:
Front upper and lower fenders molded together
Shaved marker lights
Stretched quarters 1 1/2"

Bear with me as the pics are from multiple cameras. Owners point and shoot for original pics, my D40 for some of the beginning pics, a friend's Olympus DSLR when my D40 died, a few off my HTC EVO phone, then my finished pics with the new D90, then last pics taken by the owner with his new camera. Needless to say it took a while to organize all the files...

Here it is when the owner purchased it
