5 hour detail of MGTF 135

I had 11:00 until 16:00 to refreshen up my GF`s MG.

The car is a 2004 MGTF 1.8 with 135bhp.

It has 4500 miles on it.

So far in its life I had put a coat of NXT wax on it when new.

It wasnt in bad condition, just a few light scratches in the clearcoat.

The car looks better than it was due to some bright sunlight...

The process..

Wash with Eurow wool mitt with Simonez car wash(2 bucket method)

Tar spots removed with Autoglym Intensive tar remover(car was heavily covered with spots)

Clayed with blue claymagic

Polished out the scratches and swirls with SSR2.5 with Lake Country yellow VC pad.(PC set between 5-6)

Bonnet had follow up with SSR1 with a green sonus pad(PC on 5).

Whole car including glass/lights then had VM applied with a blue sonus pad(PC on 4).

I then hand applied #16 to the bodywork and EX-P to the wheels.

The tyres had Bold n Bright applied.

Tailpipes had WD40 and a quick rub with a cotton cloth.

Heres after...its started to snow, so they are quick snaps before it was put away.

Megs #16 is just a great product, I think it suits this colour really well.

Nice work, I wish we would get the MG back in the states, I think it would do well, I would get in line to buy one and get my uncle out of his Miata.

Very nice! I really like the VM/#16 combo too. Very easy, excellent looks on all colors and pretty durable as well.

 car, btw!

I didn't even know MG was still building cars! I guess that tells you how much I know about European cars :o

Gorgeous car, nice work. Love the color :xyxthumbs

Nice results :xyxthumbs

I don't see many at all that colour :up

Looks good and I also didn't know MG still made cars. That driveway is narrow, makes for some tight detailing.
- That's common place in the UK :(

Many thanks for the comments, they are well received and my GF is very happy.

That "thing" hanging is a temporary air freshner.. in aid of comic relief(Charity event held across the UK and on UK tv etc)

I`ve already commented on how bad it looks...

Narrow drive is a normal thing, makes it tricky for me and a bad back.. but I`m an Autopian now.

Nice car, and great detailing job. Nice color. I always did like MGs. It looks like as much fun as my Miata.

That's a tight driveway even for an MG. I guess you won't be parking an SUV in that driveway any time soon.

Thanks for kind comments Martin,

THe MGTF is the Miata`s(MX5 in the uk) competitor over here.

I can just get a MB S class on my drive but its tight..

Its a bit tardis looking if you know what I mean...

As for opening the door... I hold my breath LOL...

I generally detail cars at garage unit or customers homes.

I get by doing my Impreza and the MG on my drive.

VM is dead easy.. it can go on the glass too.

The trick with #16 is use a little as poss.. it comes off so much easier that way.
