#425... I hate when people say WOW!

Strange, because by hand it marred my test panels and CDs, but with machine (Bosch DA) did not. I kept the speed no lower than 4.5 - 5 though. Some FK stuff 'loves' to be worked in slowly, meticulously.

Fast 1 week service - got all my products today. I only had time for a wash (118sc in the kit) and dry and #425 ...pretty slick ...but kinda reminds me of another Very Slick, body shop safe (no silicone) product. Any body ever try Mist 'N Shine from Wizards? http://wizardsproducts.com/Merchant..._Code=WP&Product_Code=W0001214&Category_Code=

I'll see how it is tomorrow or after a second application, or how it is after it rains.
I did a second application of 425 on a few panels today, sad to say - but no beter than yesterday. :nixweiss I then did a couple of panels with Wizards Mist 'n Shine and got that slick back of the hand feeling again. I'll probably be going back to my happy place - FMJ/HGAS :woot2: ..... B 4 I do, I'll try the New BlackDiamond Wet Fire Duo first.

I got the 425 today. I haven't used it due to rainy weather, but putting the sprayer on the bottle, man is this stuff loaded with perfume! Very pleasant. I'm beginning to wonder if the scent is part of the marketing strategy toward us. I know I was really struck (in a positive way) by the grape scent of Zaino's car wash.

From all the discussion, I'm a bit lost. Is this product a replacement for a QD, or is it a LSP to reduce static and add some extra depth and gloss to the wax/sealant being used?

I can see using this stuff once in a while to bring back a little extra zing. I don't know about using it as a QD to clean up, say, the daily dirt and dust the vehicle collects.

And the more I think about it, the more I wonder how this product really differs from how many here use EO spray nanowax.

I guess I'll learn more as weather improves, and I get a chance to try it first hand.

All the best,

I'm confused on that part too. People say its a QD while others say it performs like Z8 which is spray sealant. FX-100 is their spray sealant isn't it?

Hey, I am new to this forum.. I have been using the Zaino products for a while now, I like the ease of use but the look of them is not that great. I am gonna order a gal of 425 for my wet wipe downs, what esle do you guys like. I am ready for a change

I hate to start a new thread for a simple question.... Anybody that has the FK 1000P, mine was very dry and had some deep cracks in the wax along with some crumblies rolling around on top. Not to mention that the top is very hard to get back on, its like the container is a slight oval and if you dont get the lid on in the correct place it doesnt go on... LOL. Is all this normal? Or should I contact FK?

Thanks!

I like 2180, Pink Wax, FX-100 and 350 (for tires).

I currently hv 2180 plus Pink Wax plus FX-100 and 425 on my daily driver. I am pretty happy with it so far.

ok I finally tried 425 over both of my cars. One has FMJ sealant and one Zaino Z2 sealant. QED'd them both and then went over them with 425 spray and two MF's (one from the chemical guys one from PakShack).

The paint looked very good and the the feeling running my finger over the panels was it felt like glass. Better than my previous QD One Grand M24 show off.

Cheers

Nick

Smells like bubble gum! :)

I like it already(they even colored it bubble gum pink)

... will post pictures of the p-car before and after.

also received FX100 spray sealant (pina colada color) and

a free sample of 121 cleaner. should of asked for the pink wax sample.

QD with the performance of a spray sealant... Not enough?

OK, so #425, Z8, and Spray Nanowax are all QDs on steroids?

If that's so, then Spray Nanowax is a bargain, and I've wasted my money buying both #425 and Spray Nanowax.

If Spray Nanowax is as good as Mothers FX Spray Wax, then yes it is a bargain! I'm still not sure what makes #425 so much better than FX/Nano in everyone's opinions.

I wouldn't use my spray waxes as QDs, but when my QD performs like a spray wax - it is great! OK, sometimes even the price point doesn't justify this theory but *I feel* that using a spray wax as a QD is wasteful. Otherwise I could layer new coats of my fave sealant every day...

I think of QD's as short term gloss enhancers. FK claims that 425 will last 30+ days-so to think in terms of a monthly spray sealant wouldn't neccessarily be wrong.

But Bence, you know quite well that FX is used as a QD, and from what I've heard so is Nanowax. So they are no harder to use than 425, and they probably last almost as long as a booster wax. My question is, does 425 have any real cleaning ability? If it doesn't, which I strongly suspect, then there still has to be some sort of cleaning step in the first place...so then what exactly separates this from FX/Nano?

wannafbody, I doubt that 425 lasts quite as long as they claim...judging by the reviews 3-4 weeks seems to be the actual longevity. I have found FX to last 2-3 weeks by itself, which is not far off.

I generally shy away from substituting qd sprays for washing/cleaning. I think touching the paint to apply a quick detailer at any point other than just after a wash is not a good idea in the long run.

If you must, and don't want to go to the trouble of a full bucket wash I think its good to use something like the Optimum No-Rinse in a spray bottle (just orderd some 32 ounce bottles from Autogeek). And then add the #425.

I have no plans of using #425 by itself. I try to touch the paint as little as possible when its not CLEAN. Easy to do with silver.

So far most people who have tried it say that in terms of cleaning ability S&W and Pro Detailer leave ONWR&S (diluted as a QD) in the dust.
