Yellow pad compounds have a purpose, theyre designed to quickly and EFFECTIVELY cut a surface, in very short order. Especially a 4" pad!
I was introduced to this GMC about a year or so ago. It happened to reside adjacent to a sprinkler system, and it was not a daily driver. So there it sat, day in and day out, getting watered, and etched. If it were not for the 4" yellow 1.25" pads, I'd probably still be polishing it out. Thank you 4" yellow pad(s)!!
Glad they work so well for you, Patrick. But for me, I get *much* less marring, hazing, etc. with wool. Even heavy twisted wool compounding pads mar less (and cut more!), run cooler, etc. than yellow foam. And with small PFW being available now for the PC, yellow pads are pretty much obsolete.
