#26 is an outstanding LSP

I haven't used PS, but used MANY other products, e.g. WG, #16, P21s/S100, Natty', K twins, etc ...

I can't believe the results I get with my $9.99 bottle of #26. I keep going back to it!

What in particular did you like about #26?

I have a can that I bought at Autozone for 5.99. It's a great deal on one of the more quality OTC waxes available.

I have always liked this product. I remember using it for the first time, after getting totally addicted to Souveran Paste (or as someone wrote in another thread, "addicted to using Souveran for the smell"). I waxed my red car (and #26 is probably strongest on red), and then looked at it and laughed at myself, for spending all that money on Souveran when #26 was so good.

#26 and Souveran aren't comparable, btw; they are too different. #26 seems to take away all the reflections and give a sense of pure color. Souveran gives a silky, satiny depth along with strong reflections. I like them equally well.

#26 paste wax (I prefer it over the liquid) is a SUPER product on dark colors. Nuthin' boutique or soup d'jour about it...but an old standby that works every time.

I would compare the look it provides to ClearKote's Carnauba Moose wax more so than to Souveran.

Yeah, what he said... Do you like it better than Natty's?

I really do like it better than Natty's for that "wet" look. I use the liquid version and spritz my pad lightly with a QD, e.g. Showtime or EO W&S.

It's probably not as durable as Natty's or #26 paste, but I don't let my car go very long without waxing :D

I beg to differ but I find #26 to be very difficult to apply properly. I used it on my prior car and was happy to move into the boutique world of P21S and Nattys and Pinnacle. It's just too expensive for what it is in my personal experience. It's not bad but you can pick up S100 for just a bit more and get much more gloss and application ease.

#26 isn't as easy to apply and remove as S100 but it's not what I would call difficult either.

S100 is more reflective, but #26 gives my red car more shimmer and a wet look.

I agree that it's not as easy to apply as a lot of other waxes. I personally do find it difficult. If it's even a little bit too thick, it cakes and forms something like a resin shell that's hard to remove.

And I agree that it's not comparable to Souveran, it's too different looking. It embodies the Meguiar's Family look, one of a balance of characteristics rather than one of a single outstanding characteristic (Z's reflectivity, for example).

The only problem I've had applying #26 is seeing where I've already applied it since it goes on clear. But other than that, it definitely doesn't come off as easily as S100 but it still doesn't require much effort for me.

I love the #26 Paste wax! It's been a favorite of mine for years. On dark paint.....try the #26 paste over VM or 1Z MP. It looked terrific on my Dark Green Accord. Every now and then I switch from P21S & Souveran and dust off the tin ( now plastic jar) of #26. It's like seeing your old girlfriend. You know.....the one back in high school who was a gymnist! ( miss those days!! lol)

Agreed. #26 has a soft glow and it really is at its best on red paint. I have an early 80's 911 on my website topped with #26 and you can really see what I mean (can't post the pic since it is watermarked with my website's url).

I must also subscribe to #26. A good OTC product.

As I have said in a previous post, #26 is sometimes overlooked and just because it's an OTC, it may not be good. But it's the other way around.

It lacks reflections, but it's a killer in depth. By depth I mean something that augments the paint color. It provides an oil-wet look that's also a killer.

After being introduced to Autopia's boutique products, the only OTC product that remains in my arsenal is #26. (not even NXT or #20)

I love this place - I discovered #26 about the same time as finding here, back then it was discussed loads and over the last few years less and less. Now like everything in a big circle and its back. Might have to fetch out mine and give it a try!

Meguiars #26 is a good product. I generally find it is easier to apply and you get better looking results if you first apply Meguiars #7 show car glaze.
