<strong class='bbc'>I think I might just do it! I might just look for another project. But the Jag would have to go first. Here are the specifics:[/b]

The car is a current campaigner in JCNA (Jaguar Clubs of North America) Concours events and consistently scores in the 99.5 to 99.7 range or above. The car has numerous <strong class='bbc'>JCNA 1st place trophies[/b] as recent as 2001 and was the winner of the prestigious <strong class='bbc'>XK Award[/b] in 1998.

This Jaguar was restored with the intent to be driven and has never been a trailer queen. <strong class='bbc'>No mechanical details have been overlooked[/b]. The entire engine has been rebuilt as have all ancillary components. The oil filter has been upgraded to a modern spin-off unit. The carburetors have been rebuilt. The fuel pump has been modernized. The radiator and heater have been re-cored and upgraded. The brake calipers have been re-sleeved with stainless steel. The rotors have been replaced. The brake lines are stainless steel. There is <strong class='bbc'>nothing[/b] that needs to be done to the car to be shown or driven. All records and documentation of restoration are available. All numbers match.

Brad:

Owning your Jag is more than owning a car...... I really hope whoever the next owner is that he appreciates and values the 1000+ of hours of effort you put into it to make it look that way it is.

Thanks a lot. Yea, it's a lot of mixed feelings when you think about selling a car you have built up and lived with for such a long time. I tried to sell the BMW a couple years ago and chickened out and changed my mind. Who knows, I may do it again. Trouble is, if I EVER want another project, something has to go and this is my ticket ($$) to another car.

You're reading my mind! My two "hot" cars are either a '72 911S (a nice mate to my '72 BMW) or a 356B Roadster (about as pricy as my Jag).:D

My vote would go to the 356B Roadster. I've loved those cars for the longest time! Considering the way your 2002ti and '58 Jag look, I'd be pretty excited to see the kind of job you'd do on a classic Porsche roadster Brad!

I think if I were going the 356 route, I'd have to find one of the rare, but beautiful 356 Carreras.

Seriously, Brad, you're going to part with the Jag? Wow... I never would have guessed.

Brad if I had 45k I'd buy it but I don't. I hope an Autopian buys it (sounds like a John Ross type of car), if not, two words: Ebay Motors!! :xyxthumbs

Very, very tempting. But, I have my heart set on a 140 drophead.

Oh, and first I need a bigger garage -- which means a new house.

Someday . . . . (probably sooner than later) :nixweiss

Goodbe, ole friend!

The Jag has provided us over 10 years of fun and it's bittersweet to see it go. We are happy to report it's new owner is a first rate enthusiast who believes, as I do, that classic cars are meant to be driven. Now enroute to the West Coast, the XK 150 will still participate in Concours events but will also in run in driving events, rallies, etc.

Happy trails!

Man it must be awesome to have owned that car. Now you must move to the pinnacle of all auto's out there. The 356. They are very very nice cars. I see one around town now and then, and everytime I need to stop and gather my breath on the side of the road.

If you need some info on one, I have a friend who restores them. Just shoot me a line at sam_white513@hotmail.com and I'll give you his #.

P.S nice neighborhood!

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! Man, I can't believe that you really sold it. :( So, what's next on the restoration docket of Brad B.?

P.S.- Brad, I got a pic of a Jaguar D-Type at the Concours d'Elegance here in Cincy. I will send it to you, thought you might like it.

ooh..... which porsche is best?! good question - I was just looking thru the history section in the game "Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed" (very good info. resource BTW) and I cant decide which is better, the '72 911S (would have to be a targa - you just know it) or the '62 356B Roadster (I love the green color on them!!)...... oooo.... both too beautiful and rare to choose from!! (maybe sell the boxster and get both?? :D )

good luck!! :xyxthumbs

oh and Brad - I know its sad to see your Jag go after so long, but its great knowing the guy who bought it will care for it. You did tell the new owner about Autopia, right??
