2010 New Car Correction Porsche 997 C4S

I used Klasse for the first time on my uncle's red Acura Integra.

He really like the new look of his car. He said that the color changed to a lighter hue or a brighter red.

1. Dawn wash really made the water sheet while rinsing.

2. AIO with a MF applicator pad. Every time I put on a dab of AIO, I sprayed some Final Inspection on the pad. I AIO twice, buffing in between coats.

3. SG with a MF applicator pad. As with the AIO, I sprayed the pad with some Final Inspection on every dab of SG. After letting the 1st coat of SG sit for 30+ minutes, we buffed it off, then let the 2nd coat of SG sit for over 1 hour.

Question:

Buffing off the SG took a little more effort, should we have sprayed some FI on the car or towel to make it easier?

Many thanks to Jason of JDC for his samples of AIO.

Some people use distilled water. That is what I'm planning on doing when I'm done AIO'ing my truck.

I actually working on that right now.

Nice car, and great pictures! :bow

For the Klasse SG, you want it to come off easier, try this trick developed by another Autopian, run a MF under water and wring out until it is only slightly damp. Wipe off the SG from the car and immediately follow with a dry mf to give it a final buff. This worked really well for me. Didn't have to use extra elbow grease like when I buffed it off dry.

Those are awesome pictures. Red is one of the more impressive colors I've used Klasse on. I used it on my father-in-law's old oxidized truck and it looked like it had recieved a new paint job. It went from dusty pink looking to wet paint red. It was quite a transformation.

I love that teg. Sure wish my white one would reflect like that. Very nice work! :xyxthumbs

And even better results! I just love a well detailed RED car; they're my favorite. I think I might try some Klasse SG on relatives' cars in the near future just for kicks. (I'm too stingy with my Zaino supplies hehe)

Great Job!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I'm hoping for the same results next week when I use Klasse on our silver Montero.

Jason: Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try that damp MF towel technique next week.

It looks great! I just did my own Klasse test - you can find it in the product reviews section. I had trouble with the SG at first (and second) too, and tried several suggestions. Here is what DID work for me:

1) Make sure you apply as thinly and evenly as possible with a QD-moistened pad. I used a foam pad - I think it uses less material and is less likely to remove what you just put on. A dry pad is awful though.

2) For buffing, use two microfiber towels. Wet one under the faucet and wring out as much water as you can. Buff off the SG with this, immediately followed by the dry one. Works like a champ. This method was BETTER than buffing out with detail spray.

I really appreciate that tip, carguy. I have a hard time with the hazing on black cars with SG sometimes and that method sounds like it will save me some time. So do you have one wet MF towel in one hand and a dry one in the other and just 'wax on, wax off' like on Karate Kid?

No - you still have to let the SG cure for an hour or more. (My limited testing didn't show any advantage in letting it sit longer, as far as ease of removal.) But yes, damp wipe in one hand, gets the residue up easily, but leaves a bit of damp/streak behind. The dry MF in my other hand takes this right off.

wow oliver, that integra looks amazing. well done!

i just documented my first klasse experience in the detailing forum.

Nice to see Klasse newbies with good first experiences. Good work.

Believe it or not breathe takes off SG quite easily (just breath on it until you can see it and buff it right off!). But usually I just use a spritz bottle of distilled water (keeps you from passing out).

YoSteve recommended that I breathe on SG residue that is difficult to buff. I tried it when I first used Klasse and it worked great! It actually worked even better than QD, it just seemed to come off of the surface easier because of the warmth and moisture combination.

Careful though, I almost passed out when doing this on my entire hood

Very nice pictures! Talk about a wet shine!

Just thought I'd add my 2 cents regarding using a wrung damp MF followed by a dry MF to buff. I find that using this method, for me at least, has a tendency to exacerbate the 'Klasse haze'. I can't be sure if this was the reason though. Perhaps I put on my SG coats a bit too thick.

I was able to get rid of the Klasse haze by applying my coats even thinner than before (which I didn't think was possible) and then buffing using an MF towel that was ever so slightly dampened by flicking a miniscule amount of water onto the towel. When I say miniscule, I mean 5-10 small drops of water from flicking my wet finger towards the towel a few times. SG comes off like Souveran using this method and I don't get any haze.

But then again, if the wrung damp method works for you, no need to change it! :)

That red car looks incredible. I'm doing my red baby this weekend I can only hope for results like this! Nice work. deserttoy:xyxthumbs

The car looks awesome. I'm getting ready to do use KLASSE on my AC Cobra in the near future. THe Cobra looks great now, but from the pictures I've seen of the cars you guys have done with KLASSE I can hardly wait to give use it.
