I usually detail by hand but am considering a Porter Cable.

I have some MF's on order from YoSteve.

What stages do you guys generally use them for?

The obvious one is buffing off wax and drying but do you use them for washing, paint cleaning and glazing as well or should I just stick to my cotton towels for that?

Well I use 100% cotton towels for drying (Cannon, K-mart type 2 for $5), quick detailing after a wash, and for removing wax I use Fieldcrest Charismas.

I do use YoSteve's MF's to buff out Klasse sealants, polishes, and to dust off the interiors. I also keep two in my room, one to dust off the room, and one to brush my uniform.

I have one CMA MT from 3 years ago. This thing is the plushest MT I have. My mom uses it now to dust off the furniture in the living room. Oh well, it has a pretty easy life.

2010 GMC Sierra Z71, 23k miles.

Client uses it as a work truck.

Its been six months since I have applied or did anything to the paint other than wash it.

Just a basic detail and cleanup during the winter.

Truck has some mild marring & RIDS but thats expected for a work truck, plus this is not a correction type detail.

Dont post many details here but I like this truck and just wanted to share.

Started out by blasting the bed of the truck with water, followed by the wheels, tires, wells, and then finally the body.

I sprayed all lower panels with All Purpose Cleaner 4:1 and let it dwell on the dirt/mud.

The wheels, tires, & wells were prepped with All Purpose Cleaner & Super Degreaser and let to dwell for several minutes.

The bed, wheels, tires, & wells were foamed with a combination of Deep Crystal Car Wash & 3D Wash & Wax.

Various brushes were used for agitation, then rinsed.

The truck needed some light prepping before applying any protection.

The paint & chrome was clayed with Detailing Clay (Mild) & ONR at clay lube dilution.

Stoners Tarminator & an old plastic card was used to remove some yellow paint from the painted surfaces underneath the doors & rear fenders.

The paint was given a one step with:

#205 - Ultra Finishing Polish /PC/LC 5.5' white/S5 - Hood only.
#66 - Quick Detailer (Cleaner/Wax) /PC/LC 5.5" green/ S5.

The paint & all chrome was then waxed/sealed with HD Poxy.

Tires/wells dressed with #40 - Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner.
Bedliner/toolbox recieved an All Purpose Cleaner & ONR wipedown.

Tailgate shuts were given a thorough ONR wipedown.

The bed is still drying out in the photos as well, no dressing applied either.

Love a super clean bow tie...I keep my bow ties the same way, except a good bit of their bodies is made from fiberglass...great job!

Great job Nick. The truck looks beautiful.
I gotta tell you, I love your garage. I would kill for a garage like that to work in.

Looks great! Are those wheels chrome?? Ive only ever seen them in polished.

Thanks.

Yes, the wheels are chrome.

Not sure where the client got them from as I am used to seeing them in aluminum.

I love the garage too.

This is actually the client's garage.

He prefers that I come to his house to detail his vehicles.

Thank you though.
