That interior is quite ugly.

The front looks like a hybrid of the new Audi A4s and Acura TLs.

Doesn't look bad though, would require a little time to grow on me, like most newly designed cars.

Doesn't look that different from the old one, but it is slightly better looking. I hate slippery wood mixed in with leather on steering wheels. Needs to have a solid leather steering wheel IMO. The interior is unusual looking. Nothing "looks wise" about this new car makes make me want to buy one. :nixweiss

The wheels and wheelwells somehow look weird to me... Maybe the wheels are too small? Or maybe it's I'm just used to seeing rims and low profile tires? Who knows.

Alright, "L-Finesse" is getting carried away! It does look better than the last one though.

Agreed. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that now that the IS/GS/ES look so similar (due to L-finesse) they are going to start to look dated in a few years when we start seeing more of them on the road. It's the same thing that's happening to a lot of Nissan/Infiniti cars that share overall design styles. I like the idea of a brand having trade-mark design cues (BMW/Audi grills, etc...) but when an entire line just starts to look like smaller and bigger versions of the same car it starts to make them look old before their time.

Just imo, of course.

I actually like it much getter than the current ES. We are in the market for a new one for the wife to replace her 10 year old ES 300. We will check this out. On a side not we test drove a new Gs for the weekend and were very impressed by everything excpt the visibility.

The exterior is more sporty but the interior is quite ugly. The front and back are very nice but the side profile is still bulky looking...it reminds me of the new GS a bit....my interior is much more elegant in design.

I've pretty much decided to look at IS350s and the new LS460 in any event. I've had a great run in ESs but now it is time to step up into something new. :)

I see a lot more Camry in this one versus the current gen ES.

Hmmm, I don't..it has the distinctive L-finesse look to it. The front of the new Camry is just very, very ugly, almost as ugly as the Audio nose. :(

Wow, looks like they managed to ruin the ES's best point--the interior looks like crap :sosad

Exterior is nice, inoffensive and the nose is certainly better than the Camry. I don't like how there is so much sheetmetal above the wheelwells, it makes the car look like it needs to go on Atkins.

GS has no trunk. If you need space it just does not work. I was thinking about it because of Lexus relialbity. Went with an MB ( my wife is big on the STAR) and I am holding my breath. One thing I would say, (IMHO) ,MB looks great, inside and outside.

In any event, an ES is fancy Camry, an Avalon is a much better buy.

I couldn't have said it better myself!

Although I think the interior is pretty nice, but it doesn't look as warm and cozy as the current one...

MY mother has had a 2K2 ES since new and her lease is coming up...I showed her this and she was dissapointed. The GS also doesn't appeal to her. Just like SilverLexus, her next car is going to be an IS350 or LS460...I'm pushing for the IS :).

I saw an IS350 yesterday and was stunned by it's sharp looks. It was in Matador Red Mica like this.

Lots of people were checking it out in the parking lot.

Only think I didn't like was that the doors will get dinged up pretty easily as there are no side moldings.
