2006 Lotus Exige!!!

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work on such an awesome car. Weren't there under 1,000 Exige's in the US in '06??

This car has 2,500 miles and was babied for sure. It's mainly a track car, but the owner does like to take it out on nice days, just as I would too. The asthetics of this car are incredible. The only dilemma as a detailer is that (yes even for me, being 5'7"), the car is so low, that my lower back is killing me. At least I could reach the roof without a ladder :o

Funny thing was, while I was doing this detail at the owners house, 8 out of 10 cars that passed were not paying attention to the road what-so-ever.... It was hillarious :lol

Here's the befores:

So I washed with Meguiars Gold Class (love that wash):

Clayed with Sonus Ultra Fine and then looked it over. This is what condition the car was in:

Not bad really. Polished using Meguairs #80 with green pad and it worked:

Continued along, taped like a mofo and sitting, standing, bending, etc. I sealed the car with Poorboy's EX and 5 hours later:

One of the more challenging cars to do because of the curves of the car. Not to mention all the vents :hairpull

I wish I had my new camera too, because my camera now sucks. The pics do not do justice. Oh well, I will have it soon... That and the sun went in the clouds just as I was finishing... :doh

awesome job. very nice work getting it swirl free. its funny how people take their attention off the road to see you work on that car.

The car has been well cared for based on the starting condition of the paint. Congrats on taking it to the next level. :goodjob

man, i would so love one of those. I bet those things are fun as hell to throw around.

But yeah, nice job man.

Im down in South Carolina now on vacation and there are 18 year old kids driving around in these things...Must be nice eh? Incredible little cars for the price and looks. Nice job on the detail!!

Agreed. It hasn't seen a brush wash. The owner won't take it there and I am glad to hear that. Makes a job like this easier and the results much more desirable.

Thanks for the compliments guys. :up

Awesome job! How do you like EX? I have Ex-P

I love the black on black!!!!:bounce

I like the EX. It really makes the shine come out on some cars. Some people though are very traditional and want a wax and not a sealant, so when it comes down to it, I let the owner decide after I quickly run them through my process. I've only had that happen once so far this year, but a couple of times in the past....

I do believe that is the same car that blew past me on I-94 In Indiana going westbound a couple weekends ago

Unless theres another Black Lotus with Illinois Temp plates on it.
