2005 Jaguar S-Type R

Pulled up yesterday morning, the temperature gauge read 31* F and we had an inch of fresh snow from the night before. My client, a bit startled by my phone call to open up the garage, greeted me with smiles followed by "I really cannot believe you are going to work on this car today". Accepting my insanity for detailing, he was totally cool with me going to work. Providing me with a portable heater in the garage while working plus my halogens, I was able to rev the temperature up to a sweat-breaking 45*.

This car was just purchased by my most regular client as a winter sedan for when the road are clear. Driving a yellow H2 would get old quick and the size really limits parking/driving in the area. He found this '05 with only 13k on the clock. The interior was mint and the car was pretty scratch free. He saw the car in the light and new it needed a bit of work. He dropped me an email letting me know the car really needs some help. Knowing him, I figured the swirls would be light and it'd have some bonded contaminants. All of his vehicles are always kept up. My first glimpse of what was to come was when the sun peaked through the bare trees early yesterday morning...

With such a dull light source highlighting so many defects, I was a bit sluggish to fire up my eco-unfriendly 1000w halogens. When I did, I was greeted by heavy swirling and some scratches. Typical brush washing from a dealership, my work was cut out for me.

To note also, Zaino Z-PC + Z5 Pro adds something extra to any other polish plus Z5 Pro I've used. I've done a side-by-side on my G as well and to note a difference on a light color, really says something. Increases in wetness and flake explosion were most prominent. Further, application and removal yielded less product used and minimal effort.

As I took my last pictures as the sun fell, my client came out and noted: "I knew you were good, but I really did not think this car would come out *this* well. Add another car to the list not to drive so I don't get it dirty" - LoL. I have to agree. I was really pleased with the results.

Cheers.

Sopt on. Nice job.

Am I reading correctly, you are mixing Z5pro and Z-PC during the polish stage?

Thanks, Justin.

Nope, sorry for any confusion. Using "+", I meant Z5 Pro after the Z-PC polishing stage. I am a believer, mainly for paint work, using the manufacturer system of a final polish or paint cleaner followed by their protectant yields the best results. In the past, I have used 106FF a fair amount. It works better on the rotary, but for my eyes, the Z-PC + Z5 Pro excels. The only downside would be that on many finishes, Z-PC on the rotary is a touch to heavy (micromarring). I'll sacrifice a little bit of time (on the PC) for better results.

Awesome work and kudos to you for detailing this weekend. The weather was nasty this weekend in the Northeast and I can cancelled all of my appt's. My clients even have garages but there was no way I was washing in these temps.

I never tire of seeing your work...:bow

True Sean - sticking with a single manufacturer throughout has many benefits.

I still haven't tried Z-PC. I just got a solid black Grand Cherokee Limited about a month ago, maybe ill get some and give it a go. I have been using SIP + 106ff on customer cars followed with Z5pro then the overkill of Souveran. My current plan just introduces too much risk of marring a perfectly polished finish by wiping so many products on the car.

I moved again, hence the new cars...I'm right off Exit 25 on the Hutch. We should get together and make a detailing video for this site with one of my Miller Motor Car jobs.

I agreed with Bigpoppa3346, the picture is the money shot ready for a magazine!, Awesome work G35stilez!..............:up

Great work as usual Sean! Jaguar doesnt use soft paint do they? Last one I did was an XK8 and that thing really beat me up.

Thanks everyone.

Wade: It was pretty hard clear. The nose looked great considering 13k on the clock and the swirls took some stepping in.
