Pulled up yesterday morning, the temperature gauge read 31* F and we had an inch of fresh snow from the night before. My client, a bit startled by my phone call to open up the garage, greeted me with smiles followed by "I really cannot believe you are going to work on this car today". Accepting my insanity for detailing, he was totally cool with me going to work. Providing me with a portable heater in the garage while working plus my halogens, I was able to rev the temperature up to a sweat-breaking 45*.
This car was just purchased by my most regular client as a winter sedan for when the road are clear. Driving a yellow H2 would get old quick and the size really limits parking/driving in the area. He found this '05 with only 13k on the clock. The interior was mint and the car was pretty scratch free. He saw the car in the light and new it needed a bit of work. He dropped me an email letting me know the car really needs some help. Knowing him, I figured the swirls would be light and it'd have some bonded contaminants. All of his vehicles are always kept up. My first glimpse of what was to come was when the sun peaked through the bare trees early yesterday morning...
With such a dull light source highlighting so many defects, I was a bit sluggish to fire up my eco-unfriendly 1000w halogens. When I did, I was greeted by heavy swirling and some scratches. Typical brush washing from a dealership, my work was cut out for me.
To note also, Zaino Z-PC + Z5 Pro adds something extra to any other polish plus Z5 Pro I've used. I've done a side-by-side on my G as well and to note a difference on a light color, really says something. Increases in wetness and flake explosion were most prominent. Further, application and removal yielded less product used and minimal effort.
-Zaino Z7 Wash
-Zaino Z18 Clay with Poorboy's S+W as lube

-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut via rotary and LC CCS Yellow Cutting Pad @ 1500 rpm (x 2 on hood)
-Zaino Z-PC via PC and LC CCS Green Polishing Pad @ 6

-Zaino Z16 on tires

As I took my last pictures as the sun fell, my client came out and noted: "I knew you were good, but I really did not think this car would come out *this* well. Add another car to the list not to drive so I don't get it dirty" - LoL. I have to agree. I was really pleased with the results.
Cheers.
