-My neighbour traded his 04 TL in for an 04 MDX leftover. The black paint on his TL was as good as any I’ve ever seen (see pic below), but it was driving him bananas. The MDX was on the lot for a year, and it looked like the butchers washed it with a broom. We started polishing it out last Monday, and have about 16 hours (x 2 people) invested. We’ve been going after EVERYTHING, so it’s been a very slow process correcting the finish.
So far we’ve used:
Menzerna Power gloss/mixed with a little FPII (for more lube) on an orange pad via PC.(It had a few fairly deep scratches)
Menzerna FPII via rotary @1500 RPM & via PC & white polishing pad @ 5.5
Menzerna P085RD via rotary @ 1500 RPM
A few spots got Optimum Compound via the cyclo and orange pads. -This was effective at removing scratches on the bumpers.
Here’s a shot of the TL he traded:
Here are a few shots of the MDX about ½ way into our 16 hour marathon!
I'll post a few after shots after we wrap it up this weekend.
