My uncles car,my aunt and uncle went away for the weekend so i figured i would surprise him.

Im missing alot progress pictures mainly cause i started too late and it was getting dark and i wanted to finish before i couldnt see what i was doing.

Car has roughly 220k miles on it.

I dont think it has even been detailed.

It is waxed like once every 3 months.

Here is the line up.

Wash with dawn.

Clay-barred with Megiuars Clay kit.

wash with megiuars gold class.

Megiaurs # 9 Swirl remover on a mothers power ball on a drill, low low rpm.

then megiaurs #7 glaze by hand with a MF applicator.

then i wiped down the whole car with a MF towel.

then Eagle 1 Gel wax with a MF applicator.

Here is how the car looked after a the the first wash + claybar + second wash.

the entire car looked like this.

Testing the Megiuars ultimate compund vs the Megiuars #9.

Ultimate compound on right, un-tested paint in the middle, #9 on left. I ended up just using the swirl remover with very light pressure cause i didnt trust myself using the compound.

Here it is all done. it got too dark out. i started later then i had expected.

Tell me what you think. Did i do decent job?

Would love to see some sun shots, but for the most part looks good for not using a true correcting machine. Enjoy the sexy looking car dude!

That has got to be a first. I wouldn't really expect too much once you get it out in the sun.

i wasnt trying to do a correction. just make it shine a little more and take off all the road tar etc.

once i get my porter cable i will go back and do a more aggressive correction.

Nice job. How did you like the new Eagle One Gel Wax?

i love it.

a drop about the size of a quarter is enough for the whole hood.

and it spreads very easily and evenly and you only have to wait ~10 seconds before removing it.

it beads nicely as well. kind of pissed i only picked up one bottle of it when it was on sale for 4.99

definitely interested in seeing more pics! I'll probably be doing something similar for my Si

@silvercookie: Thanks for the quick response. I've been tempted to buy it (hard to justify as I have way too many waxes/sealants).

quick question, despite you washing/clay/washing the car, this residue is still there. I have similar problems with my black car as well. Is there anything you can do to get rid of this without polishing/waxing the car after it's been washed?

no problem. it is a good wax to keep in the car incase you are going somewhere nice and want to have a quick shine.

honestly, you can do the whole car almost as fast as you would wiping it down with quick detailer.

wipe it down with quick detailer is the only thing that really works for me if that happens.
