#20 provided better protection than Zaino....

I'm thinking the "Plastic Jar" syndrome has something to do with difficulty in removing the product. The first jar I got, was hard to remove. I thought it must be how I was using it. The next one I got, came off OK...I thought ,Now I know what I'm doing. Now , after the "Insider information" I think it was the product, because I really haven't changed the way I used it....Small ammount, rubbed in till it's almost gone, final buff... What say you Mike?

I don't think rubbing it in until it's almost gone is a good idea.



I would apply a thin, even coating, working the product in well.



Allow to dry/cure, 15 to 20 minutues and then remove with a big, soft, fluffy, clean, 100% cotton terry cloth towel.



IF you want to use a microfiber, use it after the terry cloth towel to do what microfibers are so good at and that's removing the finest of left over residues from the surface.



How does that sound?

I will put something together on this. Something as interesting as I can make it (and accurate too)



However, it will contain the details, (no pun intended), on the science behind “Water Sheeting�. But, I will have to wait for the chemist to which I will refer this to, to return from a project�.



How’s that?
 
Thanks, Mike; I'd like that. Actually, all I care about its sheeting is to know that it sheets; what really interests me is its place in the Meg's lineup, its intended market, its durability & quality of shine compared to #s 26, 20, 16, stuff like that.



My observation: not overly durable, but OK; a good compromise of all the other properties: dark, but not the darkest, glossy but not the glossiest, reflective but not the most reflective, deep but not the deepest. I'd say its strongest characteristic is its "richness", ie darkening, followed by glossiness. It may not be the right product FOR ME, because I prize depth and reflectiveness, but it's definitely right for some people.

Ok, I quit on trying it (#26). It's too hard to use when compared to P21S CW. (tho I don't doubt it's looks!).

Let's try to understand that we converse on products, not necessarily bash them. Please do not be flippant as to the request, as I'm trying to be honest and open.





Please keep it short, as the long dissertation although well thought out and executed, was a bit much to read on this forum IMO please....



IMO, it would have been better if we could have read it off the forum and a breif synopsis on it would have sufficed.



Some of us just want to get quick read on how one product is over another etc. and it was just information overload.



Maybe you and David could have worked a link to the article, which I think would have been better than burying it in one of the forums.

I'll give #20 a whirl on my company car as it may prove to be a good test bed as it sees daily driving, sits outside etc.



The Lexus sits in the garage and only comes out on nice days.

thanks mike, only good person of meguiars that has given good tech service of their products. Im glad you stand behind meguiars products with such confidence that you are given me the chance to try it out. If only other companies would stand behind their products just as well.
 
Mike, that sounds like I should use more product, or less rubbing it in till it's almost gone. I have been using a SMALL amount, and rubbing it in, that's why it looks like it's almost gone. I don't have any trouble removing now(second jar), the first jar was the bugger. But, I'll give your method a try. Thanks for the input.

I used to work 12 hour shifts in a clean room, (graveyard shift), for Hewlett-Packard.



After fighting complex machines all through the night, I noticed I had a tendency to be a little touchy at the end of the shift.



I made it a practice to never discuss issues or problems with the incoming replacements, (who were all fresh and zippy)



Things always went smoother that way.



It was a strange job.

at least you are doing a job that you enjoy. Life is too short to work at a job that you hate, regardless of how much money you make.

So Tim, does your #20 smell pleasant, or nasty? Mine smells nasty. I am thinking that it would be worth my while to try some of the new stuff.

I just smelled my #20 and I do not find it bad smelling at all! Perhaps, you should try another bottle of it. You know that I am a huge fan of #20 as I have mentioned to you many times and I really can not figure out why you are getting different results (compared to me)?:nixweiss

I think I am going to go to a Lordco and sniff some #20 this weekend! :) I can just see the clerks now! :)



It's not going to replace my Klasse, but might be a nice one step. I'll let you know how it goes.
