1991 Civic Si engine detailed (pics)

I thought WD-40 was good at cleaning because it, among other things, has some degreaser in it, so a good degreaser would have done the same job?? I am just wondering if there is something else in WD-40?

Anyway, it looks great now..

ah I see its finally done, missed posting in this, nice job dude, give me a shout again even you decide to buy another one

Great Job!!

Wouldn't WD-40 leave any residue that would smoke up when the engine is hot? And did it leave a slick/oily feeling type of finish?

Came out great!

do you find using WD-40 to be a little expensive for something like that? I imagine you need to use a lot of it.

Looks great! :wow:

I used to own a white 90 Si Civic. Nice to see the engine bay looking good. Now it's time to do a full correction on the paint! :buffing:

Nope.. just sprayed and wiped.

Amazing work on that bay. I going to have to try this on my 74 f100. I don't think the bay has been cleaned since it was bought.

That is a darn fine job!

I don't think WD-40 would hurt anything.......if anything help it. I believe that WD stand for "Water Displacement (formula 40)" so it should keep moisture away.

How many towels did you go through and did you have to let it soak into any areas?

I only went through a few towels .. maybe 2-3. The WD-40 really is amazing on hard/dried crud like this case !

And yes it displaces water...

Who knew that WD-40 would work so well ! :ca
