08 Lexus LS460L by Esoteric Auto Detail

Todd, you lived in the apartments across Pearl Alley? When? I've been there for 10 years LOL, probably seen you around ha!

I currently work for Disturbed as Mikey's drum tech, and I do all the playback too (relax it's not fake, it's only keysboard/synth stuff, and a couple of guitar harmony's and a click track to keep time). Been with them since October, been touring since 2003. Worked for Lacuna Coil, Machine Head, God Forbid, Chimaira, Dethklok (yes the cartoon band!), Amon Amarth, Mnemic, Hypocrisy, Dark Tranquility, Caliban, Manowar, and Shadows Fall. Kinda cool I've worked for 3 Grammy nominated artists. It's fun, but can be trying at times. Though the Disturbed camp is the easiest I've done, and most laid back. I leave on Sunday morning and won't be home till mid July now. But believe me it's bank!

Hey TS, what brand of light you got on the ceiling?? Where did you get them? They make the paint on that car pop!!!

Sounds like a really cool gig you've got there! I actually lived in the apartments on the corner of 12th and Pearl Alley (don't think they're apartments anymore). That was back in 87/88 though.

Give me a shout when you're back in Columbus...

87/88? That was a bit before my time there, was only 7 to 8 years old. I don't really know if there's apartments on 12th and Pearl anymore, with the Gateway and all down there now. I want to say there are, but I can't be 100%.

I'll definitely give you a shout when I get back to town.

Really looks awesome man, great work!

Thats my fear about that interior color, I have black now and I'm planning on buying an LS460 next year, providing this economy turns around, and I love that interior color and the grey with the grey wood on the LS460 but I'm afraid of dye transfer...

I don't really wear jeans but my wife does, and I just plain don't want to worry about what I wear and how it will effect the seats in my car...

Awesome work  My fav color on that car. The surfaces are like mirrors...wow.

I think I prefer this regular LS headlights more than the LS hybrid ones which (although badass looking) totally change the character of the car.

Looks so great in the afters. I am a bit surprised the rubber mat got a hole in it after just 10 months and that the leather got stained so easily.. But you cleaned it up nicely.

Todd, I saw this thread yesterday, but didn't have the time to respond...

All I can say is WOW!!!! Amazing work there my friend!! :bow:bow:bow

The difference is amazing.

So how are you liking the 203S? I use it all the time and absolutely love it.

Great job on the detail and the shop looks awesome!!! :2thumbs:

Yal...thank you kindly! I too really liked this color.

Thanks! The owner was pretty surprised too how quickly the floor mat wore through, as well as the premature wear on the leather. At least it looks much better now.

Thanks Rick, I certainly appreciate it. I took your advice a while back on the Tuf Buf pads and I really like them. The 203 is great as well, and was perfect for this car.

Here soon I am having the floors acid-stained and sealed in the garage, and it will look more like a floor you'd find in a dealership showroom. The rest of the space finished up nicely, and just needs the floors done to complete the package.

Thanks again Rick!

Impressive Job!!! Especially since it was acutally warm that weekend, almost 80 degrees.

I will be dropping my car by sometime. Found some clearcoat problem on the trunk gate and few more problems.. Ugh??? Bodyshops cant do anything right.

Yeah I have the same Lexus all weather floormats in my car, if you wear hard-heeled dress shoes it wears through under your heel quick...Mine have laster 3 years because I only use them in the winter...

What is almost as impressive as the work itself is the fact that you finished it all in 12 hours. :up

:goodjob

Thanks...I kept cranking on this one because I knew I had a whole lot of surface area to cover!

Thanks Simon. Unfortunately most body shops miss the target on the finishing steps of a re-paint. Bring it by...I can fix it.
