Hello everybody. After many months of drooling over cars here on the click & brag, I've decided to post some pictures of my own. I owe a huuuuuge THANK YOU to everyone on this forum. This community is wonderful and I feel that every day I learn more about making my car look amazing for years to come. If it weren't for this forum, I would never be daring enough to openly "brag" about how my car looks online. Thank you!!!

My car is a daily driver and endured the wretched Wisconsin winter, so please forgive that the car has some minimal swirls. I plan on keeping this car forever, so polishing away part of the clear each year to maintain a 100% swirl-free look seems like it'd keep me away from enjoying my nice, fresh (orange-peely) Mitsubishi paint job forever.

I'd get laughed off of the Evo message boards with this, but it should be fine here... my mods:

-3M Clear Bra

-"Black Diamond" BBS wheels from Special Edition Evo

-De-badged trunk except Mitsu logo

-Pioneer DEH-P5800MP CD player

-Mitsubishi Brake Cooling Air Guides

Anyway, what everyone here cares about -- the process. Back in late March/ early April I did the following:

-wash, clay, SFX3 polish, then some Zaino:

day 1: Z-AIO, Z5pro (ZFX'd), Z6, Z5pro (ZFX'd), Z6

about a week later: wash, dry, Z5pro (ZFX'd), Z6, Z2pro (ZFX'd), Z6, Z2pro (ZFX'd), Z8

I haven't added any Zaino to the paint besides Z6/Z8 since early April (testing its true durability). Here's the process pre-photo shoot:

-ONR wash (I will probably never wash conventionally again!!!)

-wheels/ tires cleaned with QD strength ONR

-tires dressed with Armor All (thanks goes out to Scottwax ... thank you for saving me LOTS of money with a cheap tire dressing that looks great)

-glass cleaned with QD strength ONR

-Z8 wipedown

I didn't really do much to the interior besides a quick 303 wipedown -- I mainly took pictures because I thought some fellow Autopians would want to see the inside of an Evo :)

Thanks for checking out my post!!! :)

Looks terrific! Very wet looking finish and nice metallic pop. :)

If you want to test the durability though, no Z6 or Z8 either. ;)

It looks great! :goodjob

Since you are obviously washing it properly you shouldn't have to polish very aggressively now that you have it almost 100% swirl free. That being said I don't think you will have to worry about thinning the clear too much if you are polishing it lightly once a year.

Thanks for all the compliments, everyone!!! I'm glad that my car is worthy of thumbs up from Autopians :)

Looks great. I really like how the brake calipers look. The red contrasts with the blue very nicely.

Are your seats leather?

The bolsters are leather but the part where your butt, legs, and back end up are made of Alcantara. Between the leather and Alcantara is some gray mesh-type stuff.

Lol... yeah, I know someone in town with an Evo that he tracks... he said the stock Yokohama Advans lasted about 6k miles before they were bald... I'm crossing my fingers and hoping I get 20k from them with my 1/3 spirited driving and 2/3 granny driving due to cluttered roads/ not driving like a jerk with traffic.

Mine were pretty toast at around 1500mi. VIR killed them.

Car looks very clean, SE wheels are a nice touch to the EBP!

Nice car Jon. Front license plate laws suck!

Tell me about it... I got pulled over by a state trooper the FIRST day I had properly detailed it this spring after the rough, rough winter... in fact, it was the first day with temps above -30*F in 2 months. He was like "in WI it's state law to have a front plate, I suggest you take some chicken wire and wrap it around the front grill there"... yeah... right in front of the intercooler.. NOT! Anyway, I realized that if I got pulled over again, it'd be about $150 ticket and I classify getting a ticket for that as a "dumb ***" ticket because it's something I could easily avoid (and I'm not a dumb ***).

I just really hate that State troopers and cops in general in WI let BMWs, Corvettes, and even Mazda Miatas drive past with no front plates without any hitch but as soon as the Evo drives past with no front plate *lights flashing* Discriminating against my car? maybe.. maybe not... oh well... at least I got some nice Evo personalized plates on the way from the D.O.T. :)
