0 bucket wash

This company from Australia has an interesting study of why grit guards may not help preventing scratches when washing. They have an interesting way that they wash without buckets.
Final inspection detailing of Australia. A couple nice videos on YouTube

Mike,

I was JUST listening to their podcast about an hr. Ago and found it very interesting as well. I almost bought the product to try out but at the moment I really need to watch my spending. I found his statement about how insignificant suds are when cleaning a painted surface very interesting as well.

I definitely would like to try this out once things stabilize on my end.

i hate it when people demo their products on clean cars, i only heard about it through a podcast and the idea/technology behind it sounds like it makes sense... but how dirty is too dirty before it becomes unsafe though (like waterless and rinseless).

I tried, and I succeeded a few times but then I finished the video...

How could the zero bucket "sustain significantly less damage" when the results of the 2BMs were "very small, almost insignificant"?

Final Inspection does not offer grit separators therefore has no incentive to present information or skew results in any particular way. As a result of this test, we will continue to recommend using a washing method without buckets for rinsing your washing device.

You kind of contradict yourself there. You sell products for your zero bucket method, so the perceived incentive would be to disprove the effectiveness of a grit guard.

Anyway, before I type more and cause too much drama.

I think I'll stick with my variant on the GDPWM. Similar but different. Bucket is only for holding the wash media prior to use.

Mike P doesn't use buckets does he? Im thinking he sometimes foams the car, then just goes around with his wash mitt and agitates the dirt. I guess he still uses a bucket for the wheels. Correct me if im wrong. I think I remember seeing that in one of his one million articles:)

really like to see outside the box thinking though.
