Several recent posts in this thread have gone beyond the bounds of good taste even for the "Really ?" thread. These posts have had a focus on race, race violence and political hate. This forum/thread is not the place for these types of posts. There are plenty of forums that thrive on this type of post but AF isn't one of them. These and any future posts of this nature have and will be removed and will cause this thread to be closed. That would be a shame.

Army officer is told not to enter his daughter's high school bec - Fox 2 News Headlines

ROCHESTER, Mich. (WJBK) - Lieutenant Colonel Sherwood Baker says he is just a father who was trying to help his daughter find her way at her new high school.

Sherwood, who has served in the Army for 24 years, was told by Rochester Adams High School security that if he wanted to get into the school with his daughter he was going to have to go home and change his clothes.

Baker's wife Rachel Ferhadson says, "Before he was allowed in, the security guard stopped him and said sorry you're not allowed in the school. Security told him men and women in uniform weren't allowed because it may offend another student."

Baker says he was simply coming to the school to speak with his daughter's counselor regarding her class schedule but was turned away at the doors because he was not wearing a tie.
Rochester Schools superintendent Robert Shaner, who is a veteran himself, quickly took care of the situation apologizing to the family for their troubles.

Shaner sent a letter to Fox 2 which says: "The district has apologized for any perception that individuals in uniform are not welcome in the school. The district does not have a policy excluding individuals in uniform and will be working with administration and the firm that handles our security to make sure district policies are understood and communicated accurately."

The Baker family has scheduled a meeting with the principal of Rochester Adams High School in the coming days.

^ Whoever made that decision should be fired...prolly put in jail...and on a bad day deported... They should be honored to have a military member in their school - uniform or not. If that offends someone - than the school isn't doing there job supporting American values and that person will just have to be offended. Oh well.

Can you imagine? Offended because a soldier who FIGHTS for your safety and freedom is in your school... Would they be offended if George Washington walked in their school? He was a soldier as well. They probably have pictures of him hanging all over the place...Are they offended to use a dollar? - he's on that as well.

Idiots.

I wonder where the security guard got his direction from to exclude them.

The article says: he was simply coming to the school to speak with his daughter's counselor regarding her class schedule but was turned away at the doors because he was not wearing a tie.

I wonder what the tie had to do with it.

Sorta reminds me of when colleges wouldn't allow military on campus.

First it was uniform, then tie? was wondering same thing when I read it.

Not well written

Source: Joan Rivers' doctor took selfie, began biopsy before her cardiac arrest

(CNN) -- The cardiac arrest leading to Joan Rivers' death happened as the comedian's personal doctor began performing a biopsy on her vocal cords, a source close to the death investigation told CNN.

A staff member at Manhattan's Yorkville Endoscopy clinic told investigators that the doctor, who has not been publicly identified, took a selfie photo in the procedure room while Rivers was under anesthesia, the source said.
