This Is Going to be Great!

I was using Megs GC on this final wash. I was washing and rinsing a panel / section at a time. I am fairly confident in my situation as the top half of the truck (above the belt line) was beading and releasing water quite well. I am not arguing that BFWD looks great. So far I am simply disappointed in the durability of it. I was hoping to use it on my truck through the winter as is doesn’t get driven often and when it is it is mostly in town.

Sun Pic: I went ahead and pulled it out into the sun for a better pic.

Any help would be great. I applied a coat a week over 4 weeks in which I did drive the truck at all. Simply a good re-wash to get the dust off and then another coat of BFWD.

I've had Gold Class temporarily hault the beading on several cars only to have it come back right away in the rain. I'm 99 percent sure you are running into a soap-film problem. Wash the bottom panel with dawn and see if the beading comes back. (Rinse right away)

I'll try that Todd. But is still doesn't explain why the top half of the truck looked great and was beading after the same wash. (Everything above the belt line. So this was vertical and horizontal surfaces.)

I'll report back after re-washing....

When I read your description my initial thought was, I bet he is using Gold Class. I have had this happen with multiple shampoo's but GC being the most common. If I had to guess it is because the soap film is running down the sides of the car and 'pooling' at the bottom. I had the same exact thing happen to me.

I re-washed the truck over the weekend. Some of the beading did come back but not much. On the upper surfaces it still looked great but the lower surfaces were not up to my expectations.

No worries Dave and Charlie: I don't think all these Southern folks have much love for those of us in the North :D

I look forward to hearing more about this stuff for sure though!

October fools!!!!! :D

Sorry that I got everyone pumped up, I didn't think everyone would believe me.:lol2:
