I just polish away.
Whatever polish I am using removes the old wax/sealant.
The Poorboy's SSR's and Pro-Polish should do it.
Meguiar's #80, Meguiar's ColorX, Klasse AIO, Optimum Poli-Seal, Duragloss #501 are others I have used with what seems to be good results.
I use Dawn dish detergent. Some dont really approve of it, yet others swear by it. I generally only use it on a car once a year. Some say it dries out trim, but if I'm doing a detail that would warrant stripping LSP and building back up I will be treating the trim anyways, so whatever.
Hope this helps.
I am going to be polishing my truck this weekend and was wondering what you guys would use to strip old products off with? I have alot of products already so I really dont want to buy anything else any info would be greatly appreciated.:help:
I use P21S Total Auto Wash (TAW) and just ordered THIS based on a respected detailer's suggestion.. it's supposed to be a bit stronger than TAW so that's perfect as I can dilute it more... claying will/should remove anything left over...
Obviously everyone has their opinion, but it's always best to remove anything on the surface before polishing because not only do you get a clean surface to work with and let the polish and pad be as effective as possible, but when using a rotary machine it's much easier to control the machine when working on a non-waxed surface...
If you do enough detailing you'll start noticing a difference between working on a waxed and clean surface, whether it's with a RO or rotary.
