Best Drying Tools?

Yeah I just got a Power Dry and WOW!! I love it. Hooks right up to my shopvac and drys my car in about 5 minutes.

And did you have to give more than $5 for it? Sorry I had to ask that. :D Where did you get it, is there a site other than YouTube?

There is a new no touch drying device called Power Dry on YouTube. Supposed to hook-up to a wet/dry vac exhaust or leaf blower. Has anyone seen it?

You will find that DC takes a very dim view of spammers.
We sometimes are a little slow on the pick up, but repeated posts about a particular product tend to be a red flag.
Sound at all like anyone you know? :)

I was thinking that before the last post he made. :hmmm:

You definitely weren't the only one.
mrfuse has been questionable for some time and it has been suggested that he be banned for being a spammer.
It seems like I'm always the last one to vote for getting rid of anyone, but I try to give everyone the benefit of a doubt.
It also seems like I am usually wrong. :D
Looks like a duck, walks like a duck, etc.,etc.
Time will tell and the time is getting short. :)

For our spammer police on this website's amusement, post#4. POWER DRY
Take a chill pill chas...
I looked at the web site and it appears to be about the same quality product as I suspect the Power Dry to be. :D Both look like an unfinished product too early to market. I wonder if the inventor knows that this term is already patented in the automotive industry? So you're saying that you are selling these? How much?

Watched the video, certainly no rocket science here. I'll have to pass on this one. Don't see that it would do anymore for me than a variety of other attachments on a vacuum or for that matter an electric leaf blower. It also looked to me like the user was dragging it across the paint, could have just been the camera angle. Hope there not asking more than $5 for that one.

100% agreed I watched the movie on the website and it really looks like he is touching the paint in certain parts of the movie :yikes: :passout:

That looks like a rip-off of the Air Wand that has been around for at least a few years:

The New Air Wand

I think it would be cheaper/easier to just drill holes in one of my solid or flex attachments to my shop vac :hmmm:

Yeah, if it were actually a good idea to begin with. :D I was hoping you can carry it on PoorBoys World. ;) Maybe the vendor will see my post and send me one as a proof of concept. If he could convert me it would obviously be a heck of a tool. :rofl

I'm betting the reason the Air Wand didn't take off was because you have to drag it all over the finish to use it. Self respecting detailers just can't see themselves doing it to their paint?

I just ordered 10,000 of them ..now just hold your breath until they are available on my site :passout:

Spammer or schill?
I have no idea, but he definitely created some action on the forum.
Also got lots of exposure for the Power Dry.

The exchange was probably not of a great deal of use to AlphaOmega or anyone else for that matter.

I guess I need to take another chill pill. :)

Just to get back on the subject, I have good luck with micro fiber towels. Doesn't really make much difference to me if they are waffle weave or regular terry.
I do tend to use the regular ones more often, but I think that's just because I have a lot more of them.

I have tried the leaf blower and it wasn't worth the hassle for me. Still had to finish with a MF towel.

I have also used the Absorber with no problems. but all the warnings about possibly damaging the paint with trapped particles scared me away from it.
FWIW, I never had any marring that I could attribute to the Absorber.

Many, many years ago, I used a natural chamois, but they were very expensive and needed to be well cared for.
I used good cotton terry towels until MF became popular. Never had any problem with them, either.

I like the Danase Water Devourer. It is much softer than WW towels. It is extremely soft and holds tons of water. It is about twice as plush as the plush side of a DMT. It works excellent for blotting or wiping.

Noting that I've never used an Air Wand I don't believe you're supposed to touch the wand to your paint and there are felt strips on the wand in case you do. There are some videos on their web-site that show this. I think the over $100 price is the main thing that kept it from taking off.

I'll use a small blower like one of the following to get water off the wheels and other nooks and crannies:

Cycle Dry Motorcycle Air Dryer [Cycle Dry] - $39.95 : Mikuni, vance and hines, S&S motors, harley parts, vance & hines, vance&hines, s&s motors, s&s carb, slip on, marten brothers, motorcycle exhausts and more., Mikuni, vance and hines, S&S motors, h

PORTABLE LEAF / DUST BLOWER + VACUUM 13,000 RPM POWER ! | Lawn / Garden

I then finish off with a super soft WW or an XL Danase Water Devourer.
