Products for tires

Are there any good products out there that can remove caked on brake dust from of my tires, but is safe for polished aluminum? I got lazy because of school and haven't really taken care of my tires when I wash the car so now they're a bit brown

For regular maintenance, I use Poorboy's Bold N Bright which cleans and dresses at the same time.
From your description, you probably need to clean them with and APC before using the BNB.
Some APCs are not good to use on aluminum so be sure to read the manufacturer's instructions and follow their dilution recommendations.
I happen to use Meguiar's APC or Amazing Roll-Off. Both do a great job.

I've always had luck with EO A2Z, just follow the directions and you should be fine.

just a suggestion, get em chromed, not all that expensive. i did my ccw t10's at california chrome fo $1545 shipped back and forth included. just a thought. much easier to maintain.

Out of curiosity why is Polished aluminum so tempermental? Does it not have some type of protective finish? I am just not that familiar...

Most of the time they are clearcoated BUT i belive older ones aren't I know stevo has a demo wheel from the van pockets was ohHHH never mind but anyways they are nice to shine up and they look great after polishing.. but they turn quick..

What about PB Spray & Rinse Wheel Cleaner? Or would it not be good for the aluminum?

I do know that once you get them clean maintain them with PB Wheel Sealant. The stuff is awesome!

It doesn't really sound like the product for his application.

Is the Meg's Wheel Brightener a tire cleaner? I guess I thought it was just intended for wheels.

It also isn't recommended for use on polished aluminum.

Meguiar’s Wheel Brightener is for professional use. Dilute as directed. Do not use on polished aluminum or anodized wheels.

If it works for you, great, but......:dunno:
