Products for tires

DAWN dish detergent on tires.

its all I use on piece wheels where there is uncoated aluminum to be careful of.

My second product is Menzerna Wheel & Tire.

I think he meant to say "rims" when somebody says "tires" to me i think rubber. "rims" would be the metal

I've always had luck with EO A2Z, ...

I know that Eagle One states this is safe for metal including aluminum wheels. I always considered this a fairly strong product and used in on the really dirty tires.

J, do you know if the "new" is new packaging or a new formula? Have you tried the "new"? Your thoughts as compared to the "old"?

I've always had luck with EO A2Z, just follow the directions and you should be fine.

Good luck

The Eagle One web-site does have a warning/caution about using the A2Z on some wheels. Like Mr. Clean, I always considered it pretty strong stuff.
From the EO web-site. (The caps are theirs)
"WARNING: DO NOT USE ON NON-FACTORY PAINTED WHEELS, MOTORCYCLE WHEELS, AND SOME ANODIZED WHEELS."

for cleaning my tires i do the following:
rinse
all purpose cleaner degreaser - Super Clean or Kleen Flo Multi Kleen+
then scrub vigorously with a tire brush
rinse while scubbing x2
final rinse
car wash
rinse car
dry wheels
dress tires . :)

+1

Tire = rubber
Rim = metal
Wheel = metal + rubber

so megs all wheel cleaner can also be used to clean tires correct ? i assume by this clarification...
if it strictly says wheel cleaner i assume not including the tire but when it says ALL wheel cleaner then if it doesnt say tires on the label as well as rims than i assume it does both ...

whats the best rule of thumb hahah just try it on both ?

The best rule of thumb is to follow the manufacturer's/vendor's directions as included with the product. They know best what they expect the product to do.

anyone try the mothers tire and rubber cleaner spray ??? i saw that one on their site and looks cool wonder if its worth ordering on my next splurge of supplies !

Whoa, I haven't checked this in about a year and didn't see all the responses! Thanks for all the helpful input, everyone! I still haven't cleaned the tired :/ I WAS going to use some Wesley's Bleach White, but then it says right on the bottle to NOT use it on polished aluminum.

What brand of APC do you think would be the best? I remember the APC at the dealership I worked at would stain polished aluminum wheels like no other and we'd have ticked off customers because of it.

Thanks again!

Edit: Here is one APC that looks alright. Thoughts?
Duragloss All Purpose Cleaner (APC) #401

wash soap / elbow grease then get a power ball and some aluminum polish and have at it .. its work but im a big fan of polished aluminum . nothing else has that look.i dont like the overpolished look of some new mags like weld wheels .. i scuffed mine up & repolished them to get the right look ..

I wish someone made a product that was not greezy and not all that shiny. And also not gonna turn brown at the end of the day.:surrender

I have always been interested in the Powerball, but how does it do with these types of bolts all around the wheel? Sorry for the crappy cell pic.
