Random thoughts thread

Well I got the call yesterday about the internal promotion.
No go.
Love being told I needed more experience for a job that no candidates had experience for considering it was a separate department and different job description.
He told me "I strongly encourage you to reapply the next hiring round" and from what I`ve heard from the other people who didnt get it I may be one of the only people who was told that.
Oh well, I mean I still get to work from home and now I can focus more on growing my side business. BUT I am definitely applying for other jobs away from this company now.

Sorry to hear it didn`t work out. Hopefully this opens you up for other/better opportunities!
 
Perhaps they were looking for candidates within that separate department who already had experience ?

Sorry it didnt work out man. Its not uncommon for companies to go the "lets start with internal hiring" first so that we can then go outside to get people. My rule of thumb is if I`m not learning and growing in 3-5 years with a company I am going. Sometimes the best way to make advancements in your career/position, knowledge, pay is to go outside of your current company.
 
I hate cottonwood fuzz season.

Our shop has 3 25+ foot wide doors on one side, 2 on the other. Really nice in full summer for air flow, but for now it drives you crazy. You get fuzz tornadoes when the breeze blows through. Also, I swear that stuff has evolved strictly to be attracted to your eyes/nose/mouth...
 
Had some extra ripe bananas and decided to make some banana bread today. Whole house smells great now, lol.


Next time is a pound cake. Wonder how that`ll make the house smell....
 
Freedom! Turned in my company phone and locks this morning. They are no longer needed as they`re moving me to a local plant for maintenance work. So no more on the road during the week, second shift work now!

Sounds like a positive change. Been doing 2nd 3:30 till 11:30 close to 10 years now.
 
Got some work being done in my attached garage this weekend. It may look as nice as Scott`s (sizzle) garage by the end of the summer.
 
Just finished watching the Transformers episode of Netflix`s series The Toys That Made Us......just awesome. Man did it take me back. I was born in 81 and my childhood was nothing but Matchbox cars and Transformers

Had one of those Nuclear Imaging Stress Test`s done yesterday. Geez, are those things meant to prevent/diagnose heart problems or cause them?

Made it thru but at one point thought I was gonna drop like a bag of dirt and get shot off the end of the treadmill.

Brutal. Thanks Marlboro...you were a big help.
 
BudgetPlan1- Heh heh...welcome to my cardio :D I gather most people don`t know what it`s like to really max out their heart rate (or even come close). I bet you`ll remember what that felt like...

Like I tell my patients. It is called a stress test for a reason. :o

Is that the point, to take you to the cardiovascular brink? I figrd was just gonna be a little exercise to get to normal exertion levels. My legs are a hurtin` today.

Haven`t talked to em yet but online result indicates: "Assessments: Other forms of angina pectoris" which Google tells me

1. Stop smoking
2. We don`t know
3. Have another pill
4. Wanna have another test?
5. All of the above
6. None of the above

This getting older stuff ain`t much fun.
