Errr. The whole windshield is getting replaced today.

Bet it really got your attention! Glad it wasn`t something, uhm..life-altering. We *assume* that safety glass will protect us, but still...

Definitely keep and eye on them. Had mine done a couple months ago. I had some weather strip pieces not wanting to stay down. Had to glue them down myself. Not a big deal. But, it should have been done right the first time.

All fixed:

Installer did a nice job too :)

Now I have try my best to wait till Thursday to prep and coat the windshield...

Angus- Ah, glad to hear it went OK! Did you have it done at your place or his? I`m leaning towards having such stuff done at mine.

I have a friend that works for SafeLite Auto Glass. He has been with them for as long as they`ve been in business and before that whichever company owned the business as it was bought out. Literally been there for 40 years. I have him come to my home, he does very high quality work. You`d never know he`d been there once he`s finished. I don`t carry a deductible on my glass. That started when I was on the road for business. Catching a rock on the freeway was a pretty regular occurance. If I get a small chip that has any possibility of going anywhere I just have him replace the windshield. This system works well for me.

I found SafeLite to be great and fast. I quoted them online and the price without insurance was cheaper than with insurance!

They came to mine. Very impressed how well they removed the state inspection stickers from the busted windshield and restuck them to the new windshield

They sure did find a way to turn a real pain in neck experience into a minor inconvenience.

Ah,hadn`t even thought of that! Wonder how they re-adhered them.

I have used them at least 3 times..one time I paid. My insurance company told me to call them...no deductible, no questions asked. The one I paid for was for a pitted windshield and was not going to do the break it and ask them to pay game. They always came on site and no leaks, replaced mirrors, stickers, etc.
