The "Really ?!?!?!?!" Thread

Oh, so terrorism under the guise of Religious Motivation is really all about dissatisfaction about how we deal with Climate Change and Healthcare?!? Gee, the way some minds (?)work(?)....

Remind me of the MASH episode where someone told Hawkeye that the Korean "conflict" was about indoor plumbing....

Brand new house, keeps popping breakers with vacuum cleaner, another room with laser printer.

Electrician told me to plug vacuum into bathroom........ :wall

Call the electrician back out and have him check the GFI circuit. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, it looks like that`s what he was getting at when he told you to plug into the bathroom.

Could be a bad ground in the wiring (not totally uncommon with new construction). I know it`s frustrating, hope you get it solved.

This post perfectly sums up why I havent logged onto facebook in a long time.

One post by an ignorant fool (Maxine, not the person posting it), and the very next praising moms for using Lysol.

Ugh.

Good suggestion! I`d add picking up a circuit tester for those who don`t already own one:

Such a simple tool for making sure your wiring has been correctly done or not.

Already know I have wiring problems.....
Electrician who put in my ceiling fans found one problem already.

Ronkh- But back then people had a better understanding of what was/wasn`t humor. Or crazy talk.
I don`t think there are more crazy people than there were years ago. The internet just gave them a megaphone. That and conformation bias combined with the echo chamber effect of social media and the broadcast infotainment "news" segmentation, it`s the perfect storm of people only talking to others that agree with them.

Like rednecks having a `hold my beer` contest, dumb things are bound to happen.

New house... They probably used the cheapest GFI hardware they could pass inspection with. Good luck.

They may have put a lot of outlets on one circuit too. If the electrician says to put it in the bathroom outlet, it is because it is usually a 20A circuit and not many other outlets or lights on it.

True

Problem could also be improperly bonded neutral and ground. That can wreak havoc with GFCI breakers. ( if used )

Seems like a lot of grads are being barred over Dress Code [nonsense], but OTOH just because I think it`s [nonsense] that doesn`t invalidate arguments to the contrary. I mean...everybody gotta...(what do they say these days?)... be representing these days, in stark contrast to when we went to school and simply wore what was proscribed by Authority Figures and then did our own thing after we were out of there. Taught us that the world doesn`t revolve around little ol` us. Not like a Marine [INSERT expression of utter respect] can wear whatever he/she wants while in the Corps.

Eh, another topic where I get caught on the fence :o

No argument here. In fact, I concur. Rules are rules period. As long as they are applied the same to everyone.

And, um they may not be able to wear whatever they want but they sure as heck try sometimes. Societal issues don`t necessarily disappear when you throw a uniform on someone.

Had a one way discussion with a young lad just yesterday about the fact he joined the Marine Corps and not the other way around.
