I do remember when Meg`s NXT came and there was an on-line auction for the first bottle, which was donated to charity. What did it go for?? $200 rings a bell in my mind.
Who ever bought posted a picture of it. I liked the fact that it was OTC, smelled great, and 2.0 version was hydroscopic (IE, beaded water nicely). Still see it being used by many Meg lovers. Not so sure if you can buy it as Ultimate Wax has replaced.
My biggest recollection is when EPA VOC-regulations went in to effect, making production of some long-time forum favorites car-care chemicals impossible because they could not meet the "new" VOC regulations. One of those was Meg`s Professional #16 Wax, the blue Crayola crayon-smelling carnauba wax. Love that wax. Great value-priced wax. I know that other car-care chemical manufacturer`s changed their formulations for some of the products ,like Collinite 476S Double Detergent-proof wax. Even ChemSpec`s carpet cleaning chemicals cannot be shipped in my home state, Wisconsin, due to VOC regulations. Bummer!! I also think of products like PPG`s DX440 Wax and Grease Remover that was made for prepping metal before priming and painting. Great stuff for removing glue sealer around door, hood, and trunk/hatchback hinges. Too bad it`s not available anymore. Yup, some of us "older" detailing aficionados who have "squirreled" away our private stash of pre-VOC-compliant car-care chemicals know how well they work.
Like someone`s hashtag within this forum reads, " I clean cars, not the environment" Nope, not a tree-hugger. As a bumper sticker says of the timber industry in Wisconsin, "Try hugging a logger. Once you do you will NEVER go back to a tree!"
