Mixing pads after cleaning

Impressive. I`m guessing that`s pretty low pressure nozzle? If I did that with my pressure washer I`d only have bits of foam left, even with the 40* nozzle. Lol!

It`s a 1500 psi electric with an adjustable nozzle. Hasn`t affected my pads and Swanicyouth who developed the unit has been using his for well over a year with no ill effects to his pads.

And .. Is the smell of the product gone ? I`ve been cleaning mine till no product smell.

This looks good and something I will be trying. THANKS

I like the three drawer plastic shelves

I pretty much only use certain products with certain pads. Same as others have said. Some pads are for cutting, polishing, lsp, etc

NICE ! When I get my own garage (`bout a yr) I`ll be def. setting up similar.

Like Stokdgs I`ve found that throwing the pads in a bucket of Snappy Clean immediately after use does wonders for ease of cleaning later, even if cleaning by hand.

Since I`ve built one of these pad washers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkLXeWyxP0E&feature=youtu.be ) my pads have been spotless after cleaning. The only time I add additional cleaning product is to help removing LSPs from the pads--after they soak in the Snappy I`ll spray LSP pads with some Orange Degreaser before final cleaning. NOTE: This pad washer was conceived and built by Swanicyouth.

This pad cleaner is simple to build if you find a bucket that is too small for the Grit Guard (I found some at Lowes by taking my GG with me)--the GG only goes half way down so all you need to do is cut the openings at the bottom. Works like a charm.

That pad washer makes me curious, how much of the product is remaining in the pad? With gravity and the water being forced to the backing plate, couldn`t there be product build up, deep within the pad? Don`t get me wrong, this is a great idea, but it seems to me that all of the OTF pad washers clean the pad with help from gravity and centrifugal/centripetal force, thus ejecting particulates down and away, instead of into the depths of the foam. I beg the question, which option results a cleaner pad?

The only time I`ve noticed any product smell after cleaning is with certain strong smelling LSPs like FK1000p.

I`ve seen no evidence that product is accumulating near the Velcro on any of my pads using this pad cleaner with a PW. Swanicyouth, who developed the device, has been using it allot longer than I so perhaps you could send him a PM.

I`m thinking the pressure is forcing everything to be shot out the sides :boot

I`ve been working on color coding for some time. I keep mine in plastic CD storage cases. I actually just found a couple different ones that are perfect for 5.5" Hybrids, and another slim one for 3" LC Flat pads.

How `bout some pics ? Right now I`m thinkin` single, folding, thin, can`t fit. :idea

Oh noooooo. That`s funny, though! I meant the cases that hold THOSE thin cases! Cases within cases?

Here`s what I meant (finally got the pics).

The 5" Hybrids fit great in the smaller of the CD cases. Holds maybe 4-5. I`m still waiting on some pads, and I only have two in there now.

The larger of the CD cases holds the 5, 5.5" foam pads. I believe it holds 8 of the HexLogics, or similar flat pads. Not sure how many thin pads fit in it.

BOTH of those cases are designed to be stacked. With two, they barely fit in one of my shelves, two high, and two deep. I think it`s two wide, but I haven`t tried that on the shelf. AND, I have another 15-20 pads coming, so I need to restructure my system.

A smaller case holds the 4" pads, like the HexLogics, or the 3" Megs MF discs, or 3" wool pads. The 3" MF pads will be compressed just a little in the 4th style case, the long thin one.

This 4th style, seems almost perfect for the 3" LC Flat pads. Toward the center, there`s a bit of a recess (looking from the top) where the handle sits. This section compresses (ever so slightly) the pads. It`s why I`m choosing to place my softer pads (red/black) in this center section.

Here are the pics.

One I clean them I feel I can use whatever I want on them next go round.

Yeah I feel the same. This is why we have pad cleaning solutions. Only time I have ever had a problem with product still being present is LSP`s. Staining also doesn`t mean product is still present either. I think everyone is making this harder than it is suppose to be. It isn`t rocket science.
