Austin,
Did you say what Size pads and Backing plate you are using ??
If you are not using the 5" Backing Plate with the little larger size pads, then it is going to be harder and take much longer...
In paint correction, it still takes Pad Rotation to get the best out of the product working out on the paintwork..
Smaller Diameter pads like the 5/1/4" or so will rotate faster than the larger 6" ones.. This size combination has always worked much better with random orbitals in my experiences.. The machine will also be easier to handle with the smaller diameter pads..
You would want to run that Porter Cable at full speed and press down on it but not stop it from rotating; you want to find the best balance between downward pressure and the most pad rotation...
Certainly as has already been said numerous times above, the different machines starting with the Griot`s machines have more power and more rotation potential for starters..
I bought a new Lexus IS350 from Lexus of Bellevue, WA., a few years ago.. Very nice car but too twitchy at 80mph on up..
I bet yours when new, went a zillion times through their free car wash for Lexus cars at the dealership; that might explain all the car wash scratches, etc..
